My "new" exhaust

So it's not bought, it was made. I think it sounds excellent and it's exactly what I was looking for. Deep throaty tone but not one that'll drive you nuts. No beehives hiding in my exhaust either.

I'll post the pics and vids tomorrow sometime. I'm tired and I don't have the time. TEASER!!!

Edit: Took about 20 mins to get it up on jackstands and get everything off the car. Then another hour to get everything cut, welded, plumbed, hung, painted, and wrapped...

No I wasn't. There's another orange MSP in Winder and it's driving me nuts cause I don't know who it is. If you ever see them again, and they are walking to or from their car, mention these forums and tell them there's another guy with the same car who wants to compare. Call me a geek or whatever but I always like meeting the owners of my brethren cars.

I put the total time in the OP but it was just over an hour and a half.

I'm starting to think I need to re-route it to behind the car where the old exhaust used to be. I got a buddy who did it like mine and he said the sideskirt began to melt a little. He then put an aluminum piece over it and said that pretty much solved the melting but then all sorts of soot got under the aluminum. :(

I went by a buddies house who had done the same deal on his heavily boosted (25 psi) VR6 GTI and he said in a worse case scenerio, just put a little aluminum plate on the sideskirt and call it done. I agree. Shit's staying put. I love it.

Well I WAS the only one in Winder with one. However, 600 total were made in Spicy Orange. There's a number of them in GA altogether. I know for a fact one is spotting in Buford all the time cause it was broke down on 985 and all my friends were texting me asking if it was me and if I needed assistance. There are pros and cons to having a uniquely colorful car.

However, since I got this new exhaust work done, if it ain't loud, it ain't me.

Bone stock his Mazda3 came in right around 150 bhp/ 152lb-ft.

Bone stock my MSP came in right around 170 bhp/ 160lbs-ft.

So take into consideration my open exhaust with his many mods and we should be really close to even. Might even come down to the driver mod.
