car keeps doing this. idk y. only when i hit it real hard it sputters.
What could it be. i have a d16y8.
only does it in high rpm. does it from mayb between 5k and 6k rpm
its a short sputter. does not do it constanly
i checked spark plugs and they are still good. i put new ones 2 thousand miles ago
NEW SYMPTOMS:
1. rpm needle bounces up and down between 2500 and 3000 RPM
2. when first turned on, car keeps cutting off, but once on for 10 minutes it stays on
* changed sparkplug wires for other used ones(does the same thing)

I'm thinking more along the lines of something like.... maybe cleaning your tb, coil, cap, and then going for the more expensive approach like ecu etc. Start with the cheapest things first.

yep that way it all adds up to what i got an ecu for....
plus you can plug it in and see if it fixes it first....
im gonna have to agree with what NVM said :screwy:

i had a issue like this, what worked for me was putting on a new fuel filter, next step since mine was so bad is cleaning out those little screens in the injectors. try takin off your fuel filter and dumpin it out and see what it looks like.

I would suggest looking at the smaller and cheaper things before buying a new ecu
iacv, clean it out or check the connections.
when theres a problem with the iacv it likes to act up around 2-3k rpm
