i got this car but the vin plate under the front windshield is damage due to the previous owner trying to pry the plate out but instead he ripped the pivot holes and bent the plate in half.

is there a place i can go to replace it or can i just drive it around like that with no problems.

the numbers and letters are still readable.

What car is it? Check if the doors, trunk, etc vin's match. If they do, I'm sure you can drive around like that, if you get pulled over, they can always check the other vins.

damn thats fucked up....next question are the ones on the doors like torn in any lil area or anything like that? they may have taken them off the other car also and glued em on for all you know... Your best bet man is to call the police and ask them to check it out.

when i was not sure about a car i called the dmv or tag office and gave them the vin number and asked if it had current emissions and if it had a clean title and also asked what the orginal color was aswell, try that......
