As you all know, I don't keep a car. This time i'm swapping my Lifted Grand Cherokee (Which i've owned for 10 years. The LONGEST i've ever owned anything) to my good friend and automobile hookup in South Carolina..for this. I pick it up saturday.
1987 Toyota 4 Runner. Boosted 22RE-T, lift....fun. Enjoy. I'll get more photos when I get it home. Thanks Josh!.

Needs a solid axle on the front, and lockers on both ends. But I'm sure you knew that already.
How do the turbo motors fare in offroading applications? I would think revving into boost while rock-crawling would be hard on a clutch. And I would be afraid of getting mud in the intercooler.

Honestly, I doubt i'm going to be doing any rock crawling in it. I've seen some that are crawlers and revving into boost doesn't seem to me to be that much different from a high powered motor. Unless you are running 20 lbs of boost and it shoots into boost very fast and very hard.
I'll do some camping, some light off-roading and some conquering of the downtown connector.

Too bad it isn't an 85 where you would have a SFA. I'm a huge fan of the old runners, I want to find an 85 4x4 with EFI so bad I can't stand it. If you need any parts I have a small collection of pickups and runners laying around.

Excellent. Though, what is an SFA? Emissions releated? I don't have to worry about Emissions anyway. I live so far out in the country they can't spell Emiisions out here.
I'm looking for an aftermarket bumper I know that. Something simple that I can add too.

Straight Front Axle.
I have a brush guard off a 1990 model Pickup... I'd almost be willing to bet it would fit that Runner. If you're interested I'll see if I can round it up and sell it cheap.

Please to man. I'm interested. I'm going to take the god old sheet metal brake, the bender and the welder and add too it and work it around the intercooler. If not i'll just have my brother redo the piping.

Awesome 4runner!!!
I have the factory rear wing that went over where the top rear brake light is and also have the factory foglights. I think i have the factory plastic hub covers for the 4WD hubs...in case you need some parts
Kid who used to rent my basement left a whole box of parts for that model...most of it was garbage but i saved all the stuff that was in perfect condition

Hell yeah...glad to hear it made it back!
I looked through the basket of parts i have for that and its more than i had originally thought. Got some interior trim peices, cupholders, top rear brake light, coil spring spacers for the rear, and the stuff i told you about earlier.:goodjob:

K. Here's a couple of photos of the pig. Cleaned it up yesterday and had a drive. It runs great, is fun to drive and makes the whooshing sound that everyone from 10 to 80 loves.
