View Full Version : Rate Obama

BanginJimmy

Taking a cue from the Bush thread and expending it some.

1-5 with 1 being worst how you rate Obama's young presidency.

Also, pick what policy you feel is the most important for this country.

I say a 2. While I do believe alot of things he is addressing need addressed, I do not agree with what he wants to do.

I say the biggest issue should be the economy.

Can a mod fix the poll and spell Obama's name right for me.

i just think he is too much talk. i dont agree with the healthcare stuff and the way he is handling iraq/afghanistan. so he got a 1 from me. and i think the economy is biggest issue at this point.

truthfully i think the only reason people like him (imo) is because he is the first black president..
He's helping out other countries by giving them millions and millions of dollars while our economy is crap. Plus he isn't following through on some of the things he "promised" before becoming president.

I think what he wants to do with healthcare is a terrible idea, an I think overall as a president he has done nothing. he cut military funding which really only cut basic trianing funding and caused soldiers like myself who have gotten out of the military and moved on with their life to get called back in just to save money on training new soldiers when their are alot of people out there trying to use the military to influence their lives in a positive way and they arent able to get in, yet people that dont wanna be in are being called up by the hundreds per week. I think things with him will only get worse before they get better but thats just me.

While I am not a big fan of most of Obama's policies, I feel that it is way too early to be determining a mindset on how his presidency is doing overall in regards to his eventual legacy. Prior policies do not change overnight, and only time will tell if his decisions and plans will be legislated by Congress.

dorin48
10-12-2009, 10:36 AM
Gave him a 2.

Whilst his intentions on the surface may be good, I can't agree with the results of anything that has happened so far. He is a charming person as a figure head but his policy has been, and always will be, expansion of government without significant regard for outward effects of mass spending at the expense of tax payers.

For the second, I picked economy. I think it will recover on its own barring anything else insane happening but a few good maneuvers could stimulate a faster recovery. After that move on to the budgeting. With a healthy economy and lean, mean running government other things could come much easier. Diplomacy will always be needed in varying amounts and is a given responsibility of the office. (but not prancing around being a spineless wonder) Healthcare reform is just a fish in the sea of budgeting social programs. Is it great right now? Sort of but it could definitely be better.

With a balanced budget, the economy would already be recovering.

I cant argue with that. With a balanced budget we would have to pay far fewer in taxes, even at current spending levels.

My dis-trust and lack of a Presidential Candidate stops when they are no longer a candidate and are in the White House. From there, there is nothing that I can do - he is what we have... and is obv not there to do anything other than a job that I would not like to have. I hated Bush - once he was in office I supported him b/c I am American and anything else would be dumb. Running around complaining never stopped anything dumb from happening. How many complainers have written the White House w/ THEIR ideas? How many? Oh I know --- ZERO.

Any idiot can complain - take that complaint 1 step further and PRODUCE an idea ora solution then you have my attention. Also - a candidate is only privvy to so much information when they are running. Once they make it there are briefings that you people don't even KNOW about (and never will) that require a change of direction. EVERY PRESIDENT IN HISTORY has had to edit their direction based on information that they were simply not authorized to know about as a candidate.

It's too early for me to say at this point so I'll hold my vote.

-10 wasnt there So I voted 1, and both Budget/Economy...since really they almost both go hand in hand. Like someone said, level out the spending and the economy would start to improve. Healthcare reform will be the absolute death of this nation. So far in his "young" presidency he has spent more money than almost any other president. He ran on a campign platform of stopping the war in iraq...which he basically did, but instead took all focus from iraq. Which is funny because everyone said Bush was in Afgan. for oil, yet fought in Iraq. Obama wanted out of Iraq, then went to Afgan. where the oil is. Yet oil has been steadly rising over the last 6 months. His plan for opening jobs was making manual labor jobs, when its the higher education positions that are failing. Then you have him making all these Czar positions, which is close to by-passing congress, putting people like geithner in charge of the treasury, when his ass hasnt paided taxes in years! I could continue but its a waste at this point! :(

Hes spending too much
Hes lieing about the tax credits and healthcare proposals
hes lieing about the economy
hes lieing about the budget

Im not saying the republicans are right, but i think the main thing people need to be focused on right now, is Bernanke figuring out when to reign in this 1 Trillion dollars in FED reserve money thats looming out in the banking industry.

You people are funny. You are waiting for the President (ANY president / government) to come into your living room and change your life. It doesn't work that way. It has never worked that way - it never will work that way. Shape your life - the only time a Pres has directly affected my life is when I was in the military. If you think 8 years is enough time for ANY president to undo shit that has been broken for 200 years then you're a dork.

That proves nothing.

Barack Obama is less of a person than an image—a brand. People see whatever they want. But does anyone really know him? In fact, he is:

An empty suit.

A man with no birth certificate.

A man who was deserted in childhood by his biological father and his mother.

A man whose birth records in Hawaii are sealed by government order.

A man whose records in Kenya are sealed by the government—even though he says he was not born in Kenya and never set foot there.

A man whose childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, spied on U.S. military installations in Hawaii for the Soviet Union, edited a communist newspaper, authored pornographic novels, and wrote poetry in praise of Joseph Stalin.

A man mentored by and still supported by radical Muslims.

A man who promised transparency in government, but has spent over a million dollars in legal fees hiding information that would determine his eligibility to be president.

A former drug user.

A man whose academic records are sealed from kindergarten through law school.

A man who arrived in New York in June of 1981 without enough money to get a hotel room and slept on the street, but who one month later flew to Indonesia and Pakistan.

A man who traveled to Pakistan when it was illegal for U.S. citizens to do so—perhaps using an Indonesian passport.

A man whose law school admission test scores and grades at Columbia University are known to have been mediocre, but who was admitted to Harvard Law School through the intervention of Khalid al-Mansour (a 1960s radical formerly named Donald Warden) who had ties to Saudi money.

A law review editor who never published an article in any law review.

A lawyer who never tried a case, with no significant accomplishments in the law, and no reputation in the legal community.

A former state senator and U.S. senator, who never authored a piece of legislation.

A disciple of the Marxist Saul Alinsky.

A product of the Chicago political machine—one of the most corrupt in the nation.

A man who selects Marxists, corrupt politicians, criminals, and 1960s bomb planters as his close political associates and personal friends.

A man whose presidential candidacy was endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America, Socialists International, and the Workers International League.

A man lauded for the supposed literary brilliance of two self-absorbed memoirs, both of which were likely ghostwritten by others.

A so-called Christian who says that knowing when human life begins is “above his pay-grade” but argues that abortion should never be prohibited or restricted.

A man who thinks “waterboarding” is immoral, but partial-birth abortion is moral.

A man who publicly laments slavery in America—which was abolished 150 years ago—but praises Islam, which still practices slavery, “honor killings,” and the genital mutilation of young girls.

A man who speaks endlessly about helping the less fortunate, but gives almost none of his sizeable income to charity—not even to his half-brother, who is living in squalor in Kenya.

A man who had the most left-wing voting record in the United State Senate, but was predicted by the media to “govern from the middle.”

A man who has never created a job, met a payroll, or even operated a lemonade stand—but wants to tell Detroit how to make cars.

A president who has never before served as an executive in either the private or the public sector.

A commander-in-chief who doesn’t know how to shoot a rifle, throw a hand-grenade, drive a tank, fly a plane, con a ship—or even salute properly.

A commander-in-chief who has publicly divulged some of the nation’s most important intelligence secrets.

A commander-in-chief who cancels production of the F-22 fighter, the most advanced fighter in the world and the only plane capable of avoiding Russia’s S300 anti-aircraft system.

A commander-in-chief who cancels plans for a missile defense system that Russia vehemently opposed—without gaining any concessions from Russia.

A president who says that science will guide his administration, but has no education in the sciences.

A man who is proficient in reading what is written for him on a teleprompter, but jerks and stammers his way through off-the-cuff speaking.

A man whose health records are sealed from childhood to the present.

A man whose educational records are sealed from childhood through law school.

A man who spent 20 years in a church whose pastor espouses Marxist Black Liberation Theology, anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Semitism, but claims he never heard his pastor utter anti-American or anti-Semitic statements.

A man who added more to the national debt in 100 days than all other presidents did in the past 220 years, yet feels qualified to lecture Americans about “fiscal responsibility.”

A man who publicly expressed disdain for the U.S. Constitution on a Chicago radio station because it limited the government’s ability to “redistribute wealth.”

An American president who bowed to a foreign head of state—a Muslim dictator.

A president who did not have time to observe the national day of prayer but found time to record a message to Muslims at the start of Ramadan.

A man who sits and listens submissively while his country is castigated by Daniel Ortega—a Communist thug whose own daughter accused him of raping her.

A narcissist who gave the Queen of England a present from the United States—an iPod containing recordings of his own speeches.

A so-called Christian who officially declared “Pride Month” for a lifestyle that the Bible calls an abomination.

A man who wanted Americans to ignore his Muslim name during his election campaign, yet boasts of his Muslim background when he travels to Muslim countries.

A man who can name hundreds of America’s shortcomings, yet none of its great accomplishments.

A president who claims the moral high ground by promising to close the terrorist detainee center at Guantanamo, yet supports the transfer of terror suspects to countries where horrific torture is certain.

A president who scoffed at being called a socialist yet acted to nationalize the auto industry, the banking industry, and the insurance industry—and now seeks to nationalize the healthcare industry.

A president who violates private property rights, the sanctity of contracts, and the rule of law—three essential principles that go back over a thousand years in the Common Law tradition.

A man who promised 95 per cent of all Americans a tax cut, but is increasing taxes on 100 per cent of the population through inflation—the cruelest tax of all.

A lawyer who represented ACORN—an organization now indicted in several states for voter fraud—whose stated goal is to get as many people on welfare as possible in order to destroy our financial system.

A president who cheated GM and Chrysler bondholders by giving their property to the UAW in a political payoff.

An American president who frequently criticizes his own country when speaking in foreign countries, but never praises America’s generosity, goodness or greatness.

A president whose Secretary of the Treasury cheated on his taxes—as did several other appointees and advisors.

A president who promised that no lobbyists would work for him, yet who signed executive waivers to allow dozens to do so.

A president who, despite the current federal debt of $100 trillion, wants to add trillions more by nationalizing healthcare.

A president who scoffs at being called a socialist, yet has appointed 28 “czars” to circumvent constitutional government, including a “science czar” who has advocated compulsory abortions for American women and the “surrender of sovereignty” to a “comprehensive Planetary Regime,” a self-professed communist as his “green jobs czar,” and “pay czar” to regulate the pay of corporate executives.

A president who swore an oath to “preserve, protect and defend the constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic” yet has nominated a domestic enemy of the Constitution to the Supreme Court.

A president whose head of the Department of Homeland Security classified pro-lifers, veterans, and supporters of traditional marriage as terrorists.

A president who stood silent while the Iranian government hacked unarmed protestors to death with axes because it was an internal matter, but freely offers his opinions about the internal affairs of Israel and Honduras.

A president who decreed that true acts of terrorism must now be described as “man-made disasters.”

A president who cracks hurtful jokes about the Special Olympics.

A president who refused to intercept or inspect a North Korean ship that was virtually certain to be carrying weapons of mass destruction to Burma.

A president who wants to cancel missile defense systems while rogue nations are developing long-range ballistic missiles.

An American president who blames the violence in Mexico on America.

A commander-in-chief who claims to have been unaware that Air Force One was taken on a terrifying, low-level photo-op over Manhattan.

A president who berates American CEOs for flying in private planes at private expense on company business, but whose wife spends hundreds of thousands tax payer dollars flying to Paris for a shopping spree.

A president who promised a transparent administration, but requires all questions be screened before “impromptu” appearances.

A man who freely admitted that his energy policies are designed to bankrupt the American coal industry.

A president who has presided over the loss of 14.7 million jobs and whose “energy policy” will cause the loss of another one million jobs.

A president whose “energy policy” will increase the average American’s utility bills by over $2,000 a year in the middle of a recession.

A man about whom liberal journalist Tom Brokaw said, “There’s a lot about him we don’t know”—just one week before the election.

The vast majority of Americans do not know who Obama is, but someone surely does. Someone paid for his education. Someone paid for his travel expenses to Pakistan and Indonesia. Someone engineered legal challenges to all of his election opponents for the State Senate and had them disqualified. Someone straightened and leveled his path to the U.S. Senate when a Democrat judge made public the child custody records of his Republican opponent. When he was only a candidate for the U.S. Senate, someone arranged for him to speak at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Someone saw to it that all of his records were sealed, both at home and abroad. Someone assembled the massive organization for his run for the presidency. Someone knows all about him.

Google any of the above and see links to actual news websites with factual evidence.

You are the type of person who doesn't get it - who thinks that going to the polls is going to change your life the next week - LOL. I feel sorry for you and any1 who thinks like you. My life hasn't been altered much by ANY dork that has been placed in the WH - that tells me a lot about the difference between power and perceived power. When you figure out how YOU can change your own life you'll spend less time in front of the TV and on Google and more time where it matters.

You're not held captive in America. You don't like it, you don't like who runs the show then get the fuck out - LOL

Someone engineered legal challenges to all of his election opponents for the State Senate and had them disqualified.
