The game looks fantastic. I play CoV/CoH and I know quite a few people that migrated to Aion.

Yeah, I sold it last week. I have the 160gb, but never got a chance to set it up yet.

you gotta take and leave what you like.

if you've played wow, you'll prefer wow's raiding.

aion, is more focused on group pvp. meaning if its 2v1 you're going to lose. it's also the paper/scissors/rock system, so 1 class will always lose to a certain class (or have an extremely hard time beating them).

i play both, and the leveling in AION is crazy. think level 40-50(aion) = 1-40 (wow)

if you do choose to play aion, i'd recommend playing it casually. LOTS of people burned out grinding the first couple of weeks.

my pros are:
customizable gear
dye-able gear
bigger feeling of accomplishment
group orientated
armor looks badass even at lower levels.
Korean style art

cons:
takes forever to level
if you don't have a decent group it's harder to get things done
LOTS. OF. GRINDING.
lots of spammers/botters advertising their services

yea theres a shit ton of spamming in that game. i do like the way the characters look too. but it just feels like another mmo made out of korea. i played a bunch of the free ones that came out throughout the years and they all play the same. This game is probably gonna end up like warhammer or age of conan. starts off like an exciting game but in the end they all come back to Wow

I play Aion.

I've been playing since the Closed Beta's..

Pre-ordered the Collector's Edition online and everything.

I love it.

Is there a trial available for this game, I need something to hold me over until FFXIV?

Not currently. The game's too new I guess for them to offer any kind of 7-10-14 day trial download.

What's the release date on FFXIV anyways? You might as well just buy and play Aion until it comes out...

i do admit. when the game first started, there were massive gold spammers. it has calmed down quite a bit, but theres still more improvement left. but the game is still new so, i have hopes! i do wanna say, you can hit level 10 in about an hour, but afterwards, you'll start noticing a slower pace in leveling. im currently on lumiel server elyos side with a 26 glad, 22 assasin, and 20 spirit master. T-T god i have no life lol

I'm rockin' a 24 (almost 25) Assassin and a 20 Cleric.

I wanna get my Assassin to 30 if I can before I switch back to the Cleric.

I haven't played in a good 2 weeks or so though, because work is really limiting my personal time at home, which is being cosumed by my finance` and our new kitten at the moment. :P

I still like the game. It does slow down a little TOO much at 20+ for a casual gamer to be able to enjoy I think, but I still WANT to play.

They could use a few more quests to help you level though. It seems like the quests will get you half way to your next level, but then you pretty much have to grind the rest, which does get kind of tiresome.. :/

Also, as a possible issue I'm seeing is the game becoming too cookie-cutter. There is almost already a "set standard" for the manastones and equipment you SHOULD be using at specific levels. This results in there being very little differentiation between one person and another, because everyone is trying to obtain that "best spec".

I see that as being an issue...But the game does offer Pro's and Con's.

Example: Sure, as an Assassin you want as much + Phys Crit as you can get for max damage.

Pro: More crit
Con: Lack of Evasion/Parry ability makes you easier to kill in PVP, and makes solo'ing PVE more difficult and potion-intensive.

In that aspect, I like that we (the players) can decide for ourselves which we'd rather have based on our gameplay styles.

Cant remember what server, but Im playing as an Elyos Mage. Shes hot lol

Coming from playing WoW for two years, I really dont miss anything from it than the BC era when things were challenging to all and fun.

Aion I think will be around a long time, and for it being released in the NA for only a few months I think its doing great.

Well i can say that the armor in this game does look badass, I have a level 21 templar and he looks sick. Most MMO's you have the ugliest armor unless you like 50+.
