This is from another forum. I think the vinyl is too flat. It needs some sheen to it. Plus nice lack of an air filter on the turbo.

Here's a vinyl that's going on a G35TT ("the best wrap in the world"). Notice more sheen--more of a semi-gloss than primer black:

The owner did it himself. Even though he didn't do it the right way, he saved a LOT of money. Total cost was probably about $400.

It's all about that carbon fiber vinyl.

From my understanding, the price of a "good" paint job. The only perk is you can remove it when you get tired of it.

We actually got the 970 in gloss black recently but have yet to try it out.

it went from a very tasteful, mature and clean car too looking like a 16 year old hand me down from a junkyard with some added wheels

I'm thinking the opposite, that the execution was nice and smooth, but the idea wasn't so good. Flat black on an SC just doesn't flow. Looked much better before.

This car is wrapped in vinyl, which color do you think it is?

If you do it yourself, it's roughly $400-800 depending on what vinyl you use.

I think it's a good cheap not long lasting way to make a change to your car. A lot of magazine and trade show booths won't take a car that looks the same as last year, so they want an update of some sort and usually paint does the trick.

Not to be a thread jack, but I just got a motorcycle that needs new paint. What place around here can wrap motorycles?

filterless turbo is fine im sure its not a daily driver.

I like that vinyl, but i dont know about it on that car.

i like the idea. i always see those advertisement cars and think, could you wrap a car just for cosmetic reason and not put a rappers head on the side? yes you can! i guess a glossy color would look weird?

At first it was one of the best SC's I have ever seen. I love the centered exhaust. The Lambo paint looks so sick, but no he had to go fuck it up with some vinyl!

I've read that the RA "texture" on the back of 970 shows through gloss black. You'll have to let me know either way. I could see it just a little bit on the Orange and Silver, but the matte black hides it.

How does not having a filter on a turbo not adversely affect the intake system's life?

Just wanted to clarify here: I was mistaken by saying it was done the wrong way. This was in reference to me assuming the headlamps were not removed (which should be done for a wrap). I read that the lights were removed, so I stand corrected!

Also, the $400 figure is just a guess. I don't deal with that brand of vinyl at all. Apparently it is much more expensive due to the laminate layer.

This new stuff is semi-gloss and feels really slick. Pretty cool stuff!what makes you say he didnt do it right? looked better before but as far as the wrap goes, i think he did a real good job. i dont see the first seam where it was pieced together.

No worries. I was a little too quick to assume the lights weren't removed--just a simple mistake.

The more things you can remove easily the better. Including mirrors, door handles, and lights. The idea would be to make it look as much like a quality paint job as possible.
