well if you go twice then you've basically paid for your season pass...if you go 3 times then you're saving money...just think if your parents come into town and wanna go....or you go with your g/f then a few months later your friends wanna go....you can keep going back for one price

drupason

Cliff
10-15-2005, 07:31 PM
lol it should be....it's supposed to be insanely advanced and it will have fish that other aquariums don't have...i forgot what the theme is though...like tenn has some non fish species like otters there and then the ones in florida are all about the deep sea and crazy saltwater fish so i dunno what georgia's gonna have...maybe tanks full of bream bass and catfish

I believe they have 2 Whale Sharks which are the first ever in captivity...
If you know what a Whale Shark is you know how fucking ridiculous it is going to be to see them up close. They're like 40 feet long.

Cliff

oh and the Aquarium will have a restraunt and ballroom (nudge nudge next ia halloween party) so that would be awesome cause i assume it will be very nice, expensive and the aquarium glass will be the walls for the restraunt which will be a cool environment....anyways it would make a good anniversary date place

they just got 2 beluga whales also...and yea the whale sharks will be 2 of the first ones ever in captivity and that will be reason enough to go to the aquarium...not many people get to see whale sharks in their lifetime and we will have 2 in our city

Wolfgang Puck is in charge of the catering and the restraunt at the aquarium

Large viewing windows into the Aquarium’s aquatic habitats are found in the 16,400 sq. ft. Aquarium ballroom, which anchors the Aquarium event space. The ballroom can service 1,100 for a seated dinner and up to 1,800 for a reception. More intimate spaces are available for private gatherings, and the entire Aquarium accommodates up to 10,000 for larger events. WPC will maintain a full-service catering operation, including a kosher kitchen on site.

Chuck Banicki, formerly General Manager of the American Museum of Natural History for Restaurant Associates, will oversee the 250-seat Café Aquaria, located on the Aquarium’s atrium level. According to Banicki, Café Aquaria will have a selection of “Best in Class” café stations featuring local and national favorites and appealing to a broad range of tastes.

“Each food station will have a signature item, kid’s meals will be served in fun Café Aquaria bags and guests will enjoy an open kitchen at each station,” Banicki said.

The food area will include:

The Grill, featuring hamburgers and chicken quesadillas
Naples Pizza and Pasta, with signature pizza and pastas
Buckhead Bread, Buckhead Life Restaurant Group’s spinoff of its popular Buckhead Bread Company concept, featuring soups, salads and sandwiches crafted on fresh baked bread
Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream, including a signature “Deepo” cookie honoring the Aquarium’s lovable mascot.

The fish, one 15 feet 6 inches, and the other 13 feet total length, were considered suitable for transport to Atlanta, and took an 18-hour ride on a UPS plane to their new home at the Georgia Aquarium. The fish were flown more than 8,000 miles, under the care and supervision of Georgia Aquarium professional staff, on a UPS B-747 freighter from Taipei, Taiwan, through Anchorage to Atlanta.

Drew if you've ever been to the Tennessee Aquarium and seen how awesome that is you should just imagine that one was built what about 15 years ago or more...it's that old and still awesome and this one will be the baddest one and all advanced technology and newly discovered species...and species that are just beginning to be able to be kept in captivity....dude this is def worth the price

In fact here we go:

Go to Stone Mountain and do any oneattraction: $15/day $41/year
Go to Georgia Aquarium: $22/day $59/year

The math here tells me that the latter would be a much better value. Later, QD.
