Sorry for the short notice guys! Just got registered! :goodjob:
When: October 22nd, 2005
Where:Lake Tobesofkee Park, Macon, GA
Plan to get there around 11am-noon. I'm bringing down my big grill, and I've got us penciled in for one of the beach area parking lots, so we can hang by the water and have some fun.
THINGS EMILY IS PROVIDING: I'm gonna pick up some jugs of water (probably 3 of the 5 gallon ones), and a buttload of ice. I'm also bringing my grill.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: contact Emily once you know for sure if you're coming. You'll be asked to bring one of a couple of things (hot dogs, hamburgers, buns, condiments, beverages, or chips/whatever). Whatever you are asked to bring will not total over $6. Bring yourself, bring your significant other(s), bring your dog if you want (on a 6ft leash), preferably bring your car, but you know.. details details Bring a fishing rod if you want to fish, yadda yadda.
ABOUT THE VENUE: Located just outside Macon's city limits, Lake Tobesofkee is a year-round recreation area covering nearly 1800 acres with 35 miles of shoreline. Three parks, each with a white sandy beach offer such activities as swimming, fishing, boating, camping, water skiing, sailing and picnicking. Two of the parks offer campsites with modern conveniences. Motor coach parking available, pets allowed and handicap accessible.
WHO'S GONNA BE THERE?: Please note that even though this event is being coordinated by Team Sol GA, it is *not* a del Sol exclusive event. A couple of other groups from the Atlanta area, as well as the general HondaVision populus, are invited as well, so if you come up and see del Sols, VWs, Nissans, and whatever else, yes, you are in the right place. As you can see, the venue is quite large, so we all have room to walk around and meet and greet.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?: Because it's the end of the season (race and show), and it would be nice to have one last cookout before everyone starts storing their cars away for the winter. And besides, TSGA has been stupid dead this year, so we're trying to make up for it!
A note from Emily - I picked a location that's very central in the south, hoping that that would entice *ahem* TAMPA people to come up and chill with us, cause I know you guys do this stuff all the time. I tried to make it in a place where no one would have a total bitch of a drive, and there should be enough time to make arrangements. If you do drive in from a long ways off, there's plenty of hotels in the Macon area, or you might want to hit up some people about couches.
ALL QUESTIONS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO EMILY - 706.254.9690 or [email protected]
Cheers, and I'll see you all in October!
*I hope some of you guys can come, even on the super short notice.*
