Probably to give it the appearance of flying. Was probably the unveiling for it there in Stuttgart. When I went they had the last big money Benz right on the bottom floor. The museum is tight, has pretty much every Benz made, to include way back when they had wooden carraige type cars and bikes powered by Benz engines. It is multi-floor and has a historical theme from the Diamler Benz inception to current time, you travel top to bottom, then at the end is a showroom. Porsche museum is also in Stuttgart, not nearly as good. So, if you're ever in Stuttgart, these are cool things to do.......

Some people in this thread need to connect the dots a little better.

I think it would have been that much better if the got a Skycrane to carry it over the city.
