So last night i was at Cruizers watching MNF and there was a Burnt Orange GTO in the parking lot. Looked stock thought nothing of it. Well i overheard i guess the owner saying something so i asked him if it was his GTO and he said yeah.

THen he said it was Twin Turbo and i was like oh cool "APS KIT?"

He was like holy shit no one around here knows what that is

Pretty nice guy think his name is Paul. Hes from Massachusetts , says the car made 570whp at RedZone in Conyers.

I tried to get him to come out to a few meets, wonder if anyone else on here knows him

Do you know his supporting mods, just curious? also how conservative he is running is car (tune/psi)?

i have no idea. He popped his hood it was def Twin Turbo and it had the APS stickers on the car. He said it was a stock motor. He said originally some place called like TRILINE or TRIZONE did the car but they went out of business. Redzone dynoed it at 7psi thats all i really know

Very familiar with APS's products, that was the turbo kit I had on my G35. If it is anything like the G kit it is out the box ready to go.

Yeah from his numbers, it seems like the motor is pretty much stock. Probably APS kit, exhaust, and tune.

Sounds like a fun ride....I seen one at steele once with the sts turbo's and it was a beast, it would spin the whole track though he had no traction at all.

redstar performance...they had a dynojet that was pretty accurate with the trap speeds on the silver neon.

It was a 6.0l I think he said 2006. But I may have heard wrong.

He's not really a street racer but he said he was down to come out and talk cars.

did he just buy it? i saw a orange tt gto for sale for 29k i think it was in illinois or michigan. i almost went to buy it. it had an aps kit, fast intake, etc. orange with black painted stocker 17's

it had some kind of aftermarket front bumper/splitter. It did have black wheels

i think your average IMPORT person has no fucking clue what an APS kit is. APS is not a huge american brand, its aussie and unless you have a Subaru many people have no idea what it is.

Like i said he was older, really nice was down for hanging out just seeing if anyone else knew him

i think you might have the names of the shops mixed up... tristar automotive probably initially installed and tuned the kit. tristar became House of Torque, but they went out of business shortly thereafter because of sub-par business practices.

the other shop, i'm thinking, is RedStar Performance. eli at redstar is the only one other than myself that has touched my car. eli is an amazing tuner, so rest assured he got the most power out of the car as safely as possible. unfortunately, redstar is no longer around either because business was slow and eli took a teaching gig up in nashville and shut the shop's doors.

i'm also not sure of who this brazen orange gto owner is, but i'd like to meet him!

lol its all good. most import ppl havent heard of tristar, house of tq, OR redstar. tristar/hot was mainly an only gto shop, redstar did mostly gm muscle including f bodies, vettes, gto's, and the like.

I bet that thing sounds sick nasty with the turbos going through the exhaust.

yeah APS didnt have rear mount turbo kits on the GTO i dont think. His engine bay looked IDENTICAL to this car, down to the silicone elbow and the APS logo on the black intercooler

Sounds like my dream daily driver, BOM Turbo GTO. Prolly a 6Leater front splitter. Unless he was rockin the ole RMR front cover? I'd need to see pics of that!!!

APS is owned by Peter. His engineer is Dave Inall...former owner of Incon who made a tt kit for fbodys and c5 vettes and then ripped a bunch of people off. The kits were excellent but priced too cheaply so he eventually folded and went to work for APS.

Man i hate redstar went out of business eli was a really kewl dude and gave me soem extra time every once in awhile when my car was getting tuned over there :(

Sadly he wasn't as smart as everyone gives him credit for and my camaro almost blew up to his shitty tuning. I had to redo the entire tune from scratch and as it turned out my fueling problem was a result ONLY of his tuning.

It wasn't the first time his tuning has come into question... thankfully he no longer works in that field.

You get what you pay for as I found out.

This is the first time I've heard you say anybody but yourself tuned that camaro. Eli's tune worked fine for me and I've never had a problem with it and I've put over 45k miles on the car as he tuned it. Sounds like he has many more happy customers than unhappy ones.

Oh and you MUST be talking about the cobalt owner that put a smaller pulley on it without any supporting mods and still paid Eli to tune it THEN wondered why it blew up :lmfao:

least u finally learned to do it yourself...its just fuel and timing at wot...not a big deal
