So everytime you get in the car, what do you usually do by habit before rolling out?



For me its:

1. Shut off Traction Control
2. Check Mirrors.
3. Check Fuel.
4. Check Vacuum and volts lol
5. Waggle the shift stick and place her in gear.

Not to be the mom but no seat belts?

1) seat belt
2) ignition
3) adjust radio
4) adjust climate control if necessary.
5) turn on lights/wipers if necessary.
6) grab 1st (reverse if backing out) and go.

enter car
-wiggle stick into neutral
-start engine
-set radio
-check mirrors
-turn on driving lights (one click below headlights being on)
-wait until the temp gauge has moved at least the width of one needle off of the lower peg, so I know I'm not driving on a dead cold engine (usually takes 2 or 3 mins)
-if daytime, drive off, if night, fully turn on the headlights and drive off

turn key to the start postion
realize I drive a 240 and it won't start
remove key, exit vehicle
curse @ vehicle
get in Dodge Ram and drive away

Step on brake and clutch. (idk why i step on brake)
put car in neutral.
turn key.
Let the car warm up.
Seat belt!
check mirrors, pull down brake put in gear and ride out.

Acura:
Clutch in
Turn key
Set radio
Get to 8k RPMS as fast as possible to heat up the oil

Corvette:
Clutch in
Press start button
Let it idle go from rough to smooth
Check all gauges gauges (ignore low tire pressure)
Roll down windows
Put on 60s on 6 or 80s on 8
Pull out
Burn tires if need be

look at my tires, start, watch oil press gauge, get a lil heat in her, then watch the road with one eye and the air/fuel gauge with the other:cheers:

1.Seat belt thingy (sometimes)
2.key in
3.turn key to "run"
4. reach left hand over top of the steering wheel to turn key
5.right hand to pull and hold choke (doesnt stay out after its been pulled)
6.push in clutch
7.turn key to "start" with left hand
8.modulate throttle with right foot wait for car to fire up
9. wait for car to idle right without throttle input
10. adjust radio
11. lower e-brake
12 RTFO.

see what the new noise is
get back in car

Crank car and bring to temp
Check all vitals
Put car on Jack Stands
Bolt check entire car
Review Track Map
Go over previous data acquisition files
Go over video from previous sessions

Day of
Check tires and lugnuts again
Warm up car

4 hours before
Prep myself mentally
Mindset preparation (somewhere between angry and crazy will do)

3 hours before
watch track video or go over track map again

2 hours before
enter state of zen

1 hour before
...music time

30 minutes before
start car

10 minutes before
Get in and resume the zen state

GO time bitches
1st lap, atleast one big cold tire slide to remind myself what the fuck I'm here for

I'm still in the 172 Nav3. We also use Piper Aeros and Piper Seminoles for the multi engine ratings.

The best plane is the Super Decathlon for upset training. I wont be in that till i take the commercial course. :(

wait 10 mintutes or so before going to car
turn off alarm
get in and find a good playlist on the ipod
get back out to make sure the 26s are clean and sexy
get back in to throw it in drive and go.

I was going to post the startup sequence for the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost which included something about flooding the carburetor, something about a trembler coil and magnetos...I don't know.

-Unlock button
-Unlock button again because it doesn't like to work all the time
-Remove conventional key from the fob to unlock manually
-Get in quickly and stick the key in ignition to kill the alarm
-Apologize to everyone and bore them to death about why my car did what it did and then show them my cool key fob
-Fasten seatbelt
-Have a five second day-dream about actually flying a real jet
-Shift to neutral and do a wiggle-check
-Depress clutch
-Turn the car on
-Clear out false-alarm error messages
-Cleared for take-off

we use the Seminoles for multi also and i cant remember what we use for spin training but its not that plane.

Usually I fart, or try to before getting into the car so I don't cropdust myself.
Turn the key.
Make sure the Traction Control is on cause I likes the mileage.
Put in gear and aim for the neighbors paper that lands in my driveway all the time.

Found Keys.

Go into garage...

Find the right key to open car...

Get in car...

Drop keys on floor...

Pick up Keys...

Look for the right key again...

Stick key in ignition...

Start Car.

2) Locate kill switch in the most obvious place.
3) Start car with the 1 of 7 keys made for it.
4) Go to the V acting all hard.
5) Piss out ass after eating at the V...3 times.
6) Car gets booted.
7) Ditch car for a non-booted one.
