Hello all again! I joined here about month ago. Shortly after I started Air Force basic training. I finished basic this weekend and now I'm off to tech school for three months. I will be in Texas but you can count on me to still be active here!

Yes, AF Basic is weak sauce...

What's your job? After being in for 4 years, and doing nearly half of it on deployments/remote tours, I'm finally getting stationed in GA! Do you know where your first duty station will be?

NickW: F16 armament systems. I'm not sure where my FDS is yet but I'm hoping for either Germany or Eglin down in Pensacola.

Thanks man. And ya, I'll sell anything for the right price! :goodjob:

I see. I've been working F-16's myself, so far. I'm an electrician though...well, to put it simply! You're one lucky SOB if you get Eglin, I can't tell you how many people try to go there! There's only a number of choices for 16's state-side, but if you put overseas base's down, then you should have a good chance at getting an overseas base. You'll love it, if you do.

I haven't heard much ablt spangdhalem but would love to go to Germany being a bimmer fan and all. I put misawa as my second overseas choice bc I heard it was a really nice base. Aviano was my third overseas. I put eglin though bc it's fairly close to home and the fiancé loves the beach; we are planning on getting married during tech school.

Spangdhalem is a good base, haven't heard much feedback on Aviano, but jeez you can't go wrong with Italy. And ya, most people like Misawa too. Good luck with everything, it's get's better the longer you're in.

It's usually the Marines and Army that has that kind of stuff happen to them...seeing how the majority of AF only goes to the desert for 4 months at a time, lol.

Just sayin.

There was a kid at tech school who was fucking with this chick who is married to a Marine and the dumb ass was stupid enough to brag about it.. he didn't get caught but damn if I didn't wish her husband found out about it. I enjoy the Air Force but I know Marines are crazy.. and strangely I respect that.

You went to the 345th, was that lil asshole former Marine there as an MTL? I heard they recently got rid of him, I can't remember his name offhand but he was short, talked with a lisp and did some dumb shit for punishment.

Well i had swine flu and he failed me for my room inspection because it wasn't clean but all i had been doing was resting so of course i didn't clean my room i was resting and he couldn't grasp that i was sick. So i confronted him about it and i said i thought it was unfair that he failed me when i was sick. He said gtfo of my office you fucking retard, and i asked what he thought entitled him to calling me a retard and he said "cause i can beat your ass" at this point I said well go for it then, he started screaming and took off his abu top and yelled some more and kept saying im gonna crush you, and he never made a move, and then Msgt Cloyd walked in and asked me what was going on and i was gonna tell her but he told on himself before i could. That's pretty much it in a nutshell

LOL Damn, strangely from knowing him I could see that whole thing happening. Dude talked tough but I knew someone would put him on his ass if given the chance. And MSgt Cloyd.. she was TSgt when I was there in May, funny how things change. I don't think any of the MTL's liked Carstensen, I was pretty cool with Sgt Flores and he constantly talked about how dude was over the top.

You didnt happen to have TSgt. Moose as your instructor did you?

Yeah I know. I was dumb when I got out of school, and didn't join. Is it true that I would have kept my rank as SSgt in ROTC, when I joined? or was that just a crock of shit?

I had Moose for the first day then i had Tsgt Ware, Then Tsgt Hanson, Then finally Tsgt Sherick. We were like unwanted children and to top it all off there was only like 7 people in my class

Alright, sorry about the delay on replying to all the questions but apparently its pretty damn hard to get some decent wifi in the squadron. I was at the 321st at basic w/ Sgt.Skibitsky as my initial instructor. We were like orphans too. Had around 5-6 different instructors during my 8 weeks there. Here at Sheppard I'm at the 363d. So far it's pretty nice here except for the jackasses that want to get UADs and get our squadron on lockdown! And I they are sending me to Spangdahlem for f.d.s. which I found out 2 things about. 1. the base is less than an hour away from the Nurburgring (which being a car guy period is awesome but being a bimmer owner is icing on the cake) and 2. we get deployed alot, which I actually wouldn't mind at all. Actually would like to go play in the sandbox!

tony

We shipped a lot of people to spangdahlem while I was in Charleston, I hear its in the middle of nowhere.

Absolutely. I hope you do go to war and kill many enemies ... and obviously come back to bone your (or someone else's) wife or girlfriend.

That stuff gets left to the really hard core ones pounding the dirt, I'm in more of a support position. We move the supplies they need to get the job done but the last thing I'd want is to avoid conflict, everyone wants to come home to see their family and that can't be done if others do not step up to take their place.

And w/ the going to war thing. I would personally love to go and experience that. Plus I would love the feeling of ACTUALLY making a difference.
