Title says it all, works just fine. Did a little research and When the Ipod is new and synced on a mac, It won't sync up to Itunes on windows, But will work on macs when synced on windows..But to save my life I can't find any info on how to to get this thing to work for windows, any advice?

I have no access to a mac computer, and simply saying sell it to a mac owner will be less than helpful.

i may be wrong.. but i think u're going to have to erase everything on your nano and re-sync it to windows. I Know that my harddrive was used on a windows before but now that i have a mac.. i have to erase everything on it and sync it to mac. If you really want to be sure, just call up a mac store at lenox or perimeter.. they're always helpful.

Well it's the fact that it installs MAC software on it when it's first synced up, and I can't even get Itunes on windows to recognize it to restore it.

isn't there an option on the nano itself to do a factory restore?

Yup, If you get it to recognize on Itunes, It won't even recognize on my computer as a storage device in "my computer."

go throught the 5 R's.one, reset it if possible.toggle the hold switch on and off. (slide it to hold, then turn it off again.).press and hold the menu and center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds.you may need to repeat this step.two, retry your iPod with a different USB port on your computer, not a USB port on your keyboard or hub.three, restart your computer, and make sure that you have the latest software updates installed.four,reinstall.to update and reinstall your ipod software, first download the latest version of itunes.next, open the new version of itunes and connect your ipod to your computer.select your ipod in the source list and click "check for update" under the summary tab.itunes will check to see if your ipod needs to be updated and perform the update for you.five,restore.make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of itunes.open itunes, and then connect your ipod to your computer.
after a few moments,it will appear in the source list in itunes.if the ipod's display doesn't show "connected" or "do not disconnect" you may need to put the ipod into disk mode to proceed.select your ipod in the source list and you will see information about it appear in the summary tab of the main itunes windows.click the restore button.you will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt itunes to automatically download of the latest ipod Software.the 4 possible restore options are:

restore option 1: restore - restores with same ipod Software version already on ipod.
restore option 2: use same version - restores with same ipod Software version already on ipod even though a newer version is available.
restore option 3: use newest version - restores with the latest ipod software on your computer.
restore option 4: restore and update - restores with the latest ipod software on your computer.

a progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started.when this stage is completed, itunes will instruct you to leave ipod connected to your computer to complete restore.during the stage 2 of the restore process, the ipod will show an apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display.it is critical that the ipod remains connected to the computer or ipod power adapter during this stage.the progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the ipod display may be off.after stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the ipod is connected to the computer, the itunes setup assistant window will appear asking you to name your ipod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your ipod for the first time.

hope this answers your questions and will help you get through this little snag you're having with your new ipod.good luck.
