This car was a hoot to have in my possession for a few hours. A really good family friend wanted the car taken care of since back problems put him out of commission for cleaning his own cars.

Anywho, the first pictures of the car were taken via my camera phone (my rebel was out shooting other things at the time.)

Not too terribly bad right?

Wrong, this car was horrible!

Absolutely horrible!

Thats ok, i started with Meguiars So1o kit with a yellow wool pad and meguiars #86, it worked a little, but some scratches were laughing at me pretty bad. I moved up to the burgandy wool, worked better, but still some scratches around. While i wasnt able to get completely defect free (would require wet sanding) i think it came out really really good. I followed up the wool with a Meguiars yellow polishing pad and #86 and then finally went over it with 3m's Ultrafina.

I know that car !!! That's my old buddy Alan's mom's car..so I'm guessing her man/husband with the bad ass RX7, teal civic, and old vette must be your family friend. Bummer he's hurt...nice guy.

Love the car. Looked great. I could be wrong but don't think I am

I dont think you are wrong because that sounds like the arsenal at their house, minus the vette. I did the rx7 last summer.

Man, I loved being a pro detailer in the days. It was so satisfying after a 14'ish hour work day, to step back and look at what I had accomplished; One of the few jobs I had as a teenager where being a perfectionist was rewarded. Good job man, keep up the good work.

Good work!

that NSX looks goofy though lolSTOCK NSX's look ridiculous to me lol! It looks like an alligator raised up running on land. They were alright back in the early 90's but they don't have an aggressive stance unless they're lowered and have the sideskirts with the matching vent. The early model wheels don't help it either!

Stock with the newer wheels and lowered looks good, even without the sideskirts.

SICK. I'M ABOUT TO ADD BUFFING TO MY DETAILING HERE REAL SOON. I HAVE TO PURCHASE A BUFFER FIRST. FORTUNATELY THOUGH NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE ASKING FOR PAINT CORRECTION OF ANY SORT, JUST NORMAL 'DETAILING'

Looks really good man, I love finishing with Ultrafina when I do 3 step corrections, especially on black. For everyone looking for info on paint correction, go to Autopia.org (don't post, just read). It has every bit of info you will ever need.

.blank cd- You can get 3M at most body shop supply stores but for a good selection you need to check out autogeek.net or properautocare.com

It's funny, but those have been on those for years. I can't remember if they bought the car new or not, but the guy has fixed up a lot of cool cars in their time. One of their sons had a stupid fast RX7 in Texas back in the day, which may be the red one he rocks now, but I'm not sure.

Anywho...the silver edging is actually a prismatic effect thing. Sounds a little ricey in theory, but it's been on there for years, and back when the only people that had them kept them stock, it was a neat way to make it stand out.

It was well done though as far as fit and finish as I recall.

What ive been told is he has owned both the rx7 and nsx since new. The owner used to be a custom painter but put that up, and now just chills out pretty much.

And in person those cashmere color enhancements arent bad. Its actually painted not a decal. It was done to make it different, and the guy that owns it is more about doing his own thing.
