Just got my first civic

Hey I just got my first honda civic. It's a 95 DX EG8 with a D15B7 in it. And I'm totally clueless to the car. All I know is that it's slow and that it clean except for the minor things I got to fix (tailight, passanger side mirror, small dent in rear passanger door, and window cable in rear driver door broke). I got the car for about 500 bucks with only 135k miles on it. Im currently located in Columbus, Ga where I work a PTAP. A automotive shop, that sales rims, exhuast, intakes, and other various parts. But what I was wondering is to meet some people to help lead me in the right direction with making this car even cleaner and a little bit more quicker.

Thanks the funny thing is that when I ha my 240sx. I hated honda, but now I'm starting to love the car and more everyday. I only wish it was a little cleaner and faster, I'm getting it lower down at the end of oct with some cheap coilover from work and adding my gold and chrome 17" ROTA GT-3.

A little qucker is all its going to get- I know- I have the b7. i focued on suspension first and that has really been a help on the car.

What is your budget and what do like when it comes to civics? need some ideas before we can give you suggestions- I know what I like but it may not be what you like.

oh- and 17" is a little big for these. everyone asked if I had 18 or 19s when I had my old c5's. 16 is max I would go IMO

I honestly just want to be able to out run or keep with stock 240sx's with mild modications done to them. I'm not tring to be super fast. Mainly just quick. My budget is going to be around 5k going into the car motor and maybe 1500 on the outside. Then maybe with in the next two years maybe a supercharger kit.

Hmm...I can sleal the 17" for about 500 hundred and get brand new 16" of the same wheel for about; 50 bucks a wheel from my friend that lives in the philippines.

If your going to lower it spend money on some good suspension! Like people say do cheap once you will be doing it again do it right the first time priceless.

I agree. You can pick up a good set of lowering coils for fairly cheap.

i say full coilovers. or either a good combo like ground control and koni yellows. but thats money!

i just got h&r springs, rides smooth as hell, but i hate not beign able to lower it more when i want too.

clean car tho, seems like a good project.

I just found some coilovers on ebay that are made by by skunk2 for 719 or best offer. So I'm going to offer about $400 and see if they bite on it. Hopefully they will cause this place have a shit load of them in stock and it looks like they just want them gone. If all else fail I'll probably go with springs. But should I get the wheels first or the springs?

But anyways I drop some coilover in the civic today and slammed it to the ground. But anyways anyone know anyone that got so si wheels for sell.

nah it does bouncer hardly at all. there 4 of us that that work at my shop that have slammed civics. But I got to level out my front becuase I can't get the bastard down my driveway lol. I'll post a pic of all of all cars soon.

figures, looks nice slammed but it will blow out the shocks fast, i was gonna lower it this monday but i said nah, ima get my shocks next month, since i got bills and tuition to pay and alarm to install

I guess that's what I get for using the stock shocks. Funny thing is that all of us that work at my shop have our cas slammed and atleast one if not all the shocks are blowen. But I get new one installed tomorrow.

Bad news my toy got totaled out going to work on friday right after I got it out the paint shop. But I got a sheel coming this week and I'm taking my motor and transmission out the old one put in the new one. And I'm sell everything else as parts...So of you need any parts let me know?

I'll post pics of the damage later in the week :(
