Quick Toyota motor related question

Can I safely put this extra MSD coil on my '80 corolla and it not mess anything up?

Theres not enough info to answer that question really. Is it an electronic ignition or points? What kind of coil is the MSD, and what kind is the original Toyota? Do they both look like this?

But the short answer is: yeah, you can do it and it shouldn't mess anything up, as long as you wire it up like the original coil. Too many variables involved to give you a definite yes/no.

Not to be a douche, but I was really looking for someone that's really familiar with these cars to answer, hence why I gave the year of the car and what motor it is ;)

let me know i can get 4 u anything you need for that engine, cams from mild to wild, race valve springs, stainless valves, forged pistons up to 89mm, race rods h beam or aluminum, timming gear drives, moroso oil pans, custom EFI or carburated intakes and turbo or N/A headers, anything you can imagin bro!

How much would a nice cam (somewhere between street and race) and valve springs run? I'm guessing I'd need at least a Weber 32/36 carb as well?

You just said '80 Corolla, not "80 Corolla with 2JZRB26JDMmadtytevtecks" or whatever. You didn't say what coil it is either, MSD makes a lot of different coils, some of which require a resistor and some that don't. But put the sumbitch on, the worst that could happen is you fry the coil and your spark module too. :goodjob:
