View Full Version : Are you guilty?

Of texting and driving? I am. Although I hate texting, I am guilty of replying or sending texts while driving. I've noticed due to commercials and billboards that this has become a problem. I am working on correcting my problem, because I don't want to be the cause of an accident that could potentially hurt someone.
Who else is guilty?

I'll text at a light, otherwise I stay off the phone while driving.

I've tried doing it like on top of the steering wheel so I can still see the road, but it's still risky.
If people didn't like texting so damn much these days. What happened to just talking (which I can do because I have an ear piece :goodjob:)

that doesnt work at all. esp when u have to turn. I've been riding shotgun and had to tell the driver(a female) to turn/brake/look/ect plenty of times.

Please do, for the very reason you stated. It scares me, sometimes, being in a tractor trailer and seeing someone below me moving in and out of their lane and I see it's because they are playing with their phones. Later, QD.

Yeah, I finally realized today, that it could be potentially dangerous. Scared myself for a moment, when I almost didn't catch the brake signals in front of me in time.
If in the car, shit just gonna have to wait. I'm not ready to leave just yet

But I thought I'd post this thread because I saw a P.B.A about it today and was curious to know how many people are actually guilty like myself. But maybe also people will be aware that this is really a problem.

I usually don't unless my reply is VERY short like "ok." I'll read ones that come in since they pop up on my screen anyways and just wait to reply when i'm stopped.

WOW :slap: that's bad and totally an easy way to hurt/kill you and someone else. I was driving to work one early morning... saw a Semi truck that totally smash someone else's car from the rear in like a bumper to bumper traffic scenario on 75S bound and I thought he must not have been paying attention to what was infront of him cuz that car is flat. People ramming into the rear of people's car for not paying attention to what's in front of them (getting cd's on the floor, getting stuff in rear seat, lighting a cig., texting and what not) happens alot and severly hurts people. When I drive alot when I stop usually i'll glance in the rear view for the car coming up to me in my rear cuz of sh!t like this lol. Im not about to be squashed like a bug because someone doesnt pay attention enough to there driving. Sometimes people do stupid sh!t like this http://izismile.com/img/img2/20090428/lambo_04.jpg

No I'm not, I drive a manual and I hate people that talk on the phone so why would I want to be like something I hate?

i read that you have 10x slower reaction time when texting & driving than you do drunk driving.
