id check my connections and if they are good then your satellite may need to be repositioned it shouldnt be like that i mean years ago they was know for it but its 2009 and they have done a lot better

Try turning it from the HD channel to the next channel up (SD). The standard def channels usually come in better (for obvious reasons).

use to have that problem...until I check the signal power on the tv, and saw that it was down around 34%, called DirectTV had them come out, and adjust the satalite, and brought the signal strength up to 95%!

I/my parents were a very happy Comcast customers for years. I've had DirecTV for a month and I've hated every minute of it.

the problem with direct is that they can't look directly at a satellite feed, they have to look something like 8-9 degrees off to one side iirc....something to do with the fcc regulations...

dish network however is capable of looking dead on at a satellite and actual signal strengths are much higher than directv's
