anytime I get a car, the first thing I do is lower it and put an intake on it. Its the best bang for the buck. It will look better, sound better, but not be too over the top. Its a good way to ease her into this whole tuning thing. Plus ive always found the sound of an intake gets tuner virgins craving more. Cool car, tell het to enjoy it! :2cents:

?!What the fuck were you smoking!? A neon a DSM? Just because there are some mitsu parts on a car doesn't make it a DSM. Just about every car out there has some mitsu part on them somewhere...hell even camaros have mitsu parts.

Theres really not much worth doing to the 3g eclipse. You can throw on a catback and an intake for shits and giggles, but every power adder after that gets really expensive.

My father actually owns a modded 3g eclipse and it is a decent car. It's a 2000 gt fedspec with a manual tranny. (i know i may sound stupid talking about my "Daddy's" car ha but he really was/is into modding the car. Personally, I own a supra)

His mods are as follows: aem intake; magnaflow exhaust; eibach springs; agx gas shocks; rear strut tower bar; aftermarket swaybar; b&m short shifter

With all of that the car not only still handles like a complete pig, but didnt really seem to pick anything up power wise. Dont get me wrong, it still blows away other stock eclipses through the turns, but compared to some other platforms out there it really isnt worth it.

Your next step after exhaust and intake would be headers unless you wanted to throw on a turbo or supercharger. I've seen only 1 other gs turbo'd and that was an hks sponsored car. Neither the 6 or the 4 has a decent enough bottom end to support boost through.

If you are just looking to have a little fun with the car, his modifications would be a good path to follow... Also... the brakes on the 2000 gt are a 2 piston caliper so a lot of guys upgrade to that. Then the wheels on the gt are bigger also i believe so that'd be another good idea.

If youre looking for the car to be a performer this would not be a good platform. But if you just looking to have a little fun, follow his mod path and the extra few i gave you. That should make for a pretty fun ride.

btw... If i remember correctly think the big forum for that car is club3g.com. It's been a while.

I welded them, a year ago,like it's meant to be done.talk to any of the wTn members, they can vouch for me. im a good guy and damn good mechanic,body guy,stereo installer, etc.and far as racing, i'm in ohio right now, kinda hard.but I'd be glad to as soon as i get back and put in my new radiator(gotta leak before I lieft). hey, guess what? some people are married, have a morage, and 2 car payments(both of which are my wife's vehicles 2005 and 2003). how many 22 year old guys, you know,have all that?I don't regret owning a cavalier. especialy since the other car i owned was a base cavi 2200 SOHC 3 speed auto. now I own a 2.4 DOHC 5 speed. that alone is night and day. I try to make the most of what I got.

Did you just compare an eclipse to a civic?!?! What is wrong with you...did you know the when DSMs came out they could beat the same year vettes up to about 60mph? Does that make the vette chevy's answer to a civis as well? Civic was made as a cheap fuel economic car, the eclipse is a sports coupe. So you have an intake, headers, and a dual exhuast cat-back?? Now a) if your gonna do an exhuast then do the whole thing, it's a bottle neck theory, cat-back alone won't do shit and b) Why the fuck do you need dual exhuast on your 4banger? think your pushin out that much air that you need 2 pipes? You could have used the money spent on the dual cat-back, for ONE FULL exhuast system...or maybe for the family you talk so much about.

Hmm...interesting. I tuned one a few weeks back that made 350whp on 17psi on pump gas...It has a hell of a powerband, and infact, I'd put it up against most of the SR's Ive done. I guess time will tell how durable the motor is with a good tune. Im tuning another RB at Batlground on Tuesday, this time an RB25, so Im gonna overlay the graphs and see how they compare with similair setups. Should be interesting...

The Galant is the same as a 1g dsm plus 4ws like a 3kgt vr-4.

Plus the built motor and tranny, big turbo, and near perfect condition everything i dont miss the g20 at all and that was a nice car.

Don't like the 3g for no reason? Because the 1g and 2g were a great platform.

Mitsubishi brought out the 3g because most of its sales were from the NON TURBO FWD models to girls so they made the 3g to accomidate them.

They are slow and handle like ass and are not good looking like the 1g,2g, and GVR4.

SilverJester's car is a great example of a 2g. Clean and fast.

I didnt want to get a 2g, or any other dsm, or some older car (240s/galants/sentras, etc....) because when i am driving 99.9999% of the time i am not racing.
