View Full Version : My pops had a heart attack yesterday...

He called my mom complaining that his chest hurt and he was unable to drive himself to the ER; my brother took him and his blood pressure was really high. They weren't sure if he had one or was going to have one. They had issues getting his blood pressure down so they kept him over night. Keep my pops in your thoughts i know many of you have met him at various parties we've had at their place; i'll update later once we know more. :goodjob:

Damn Paul, I wish him a speed recovery. Advancements in technology has led heart attack sufferers to lives long live after the fact.

Hope your mom is coping well.

Too young for that shit, dude. Tell him to snap back from this and not to let it happen again or I'll be forced to create a thread. Later, QD.

Hope everything turns out for the best. My dad just got his 2nd kidney transplant a week ago and is already doing better than ever now. But when you get that phone call that your pops is on the way to the hospital it is never a good feeling. Modern medicine can do wonders though, keep your head up.

55... Jeez. That's around the same age my dad had his. What hospital is he in? I wish you and the fam best wishes. I know you're not religious, but Paul, I'm praying for him, man. Hope he pulls through just fine! My dad had quadruple bypass over 10 years ago and he's still kickin. Keep ya head up homie!

Ok so We just got home from the hospital. They moved him from Gwinnett Medical to Saint Joseph's b/c they could do the cathidor(sp?) But couldnt do the stint. So They transported him to the hospital this afternoon. He went through the procedure and he seems to be doing fine. Hopefully Like paul said this will be a wake call for him and my mom. Both of them are unhealthy, and need to start eating right and exercising! Thanks for everyones thoughts and prayers.

My mother and father are in the late 50's and early 60's i pray everynight i dont get a phone call from a health issue of some kind. Its so hard as they get older and with all the bad foods and habits today its only getting worse. Ill pray for ya dad tonight and i hope it all comes out good. Just remember their is some people who have had 2 or more heart attacks and still get to live a long life. Its just sometimes a warning from ya body or god saying things need to change if you wanna live.

I pray for him to have a speedy recovery man. This makes me a little worried, as my dad is 52. He's lived a rough life, and everytime my phone rings from my mom, I expect the worst.

thanks guys really appreciate the support - we got to see him before/after surgery he was in good spirits and harassing the nurses...

Night nurse walks in... "hey i thought you were supposed to be wearing a skirt" - my dad

I'm sure the nurses will be glad to get rid of him soon enough. He is supposed to return home sometime over the weekend. I'm thinking a treadmill may be a good gift for his bday on monday ;)

Thanks again everyone.

wow this sounds like my dad 6 months ago he went through the same thing.he got stuck in duluth we had to go pick him up and take him in. he had 100%-75%-23%-5% blockage in the arts and he is 64 so i would say paul keep yo dad off greasy foods.
