I finally got the headunit in my car. Nice little kenwood unit, cheap aftermarket speakers, factory "sub"... life is great.

I know how you feel...my factory headunit is fucked up. Ant. doesnt get any recepetion, and the CD is broken...so I get only one station 97.1! :(

Having a radio that doesn't work SUCKS. It's like taunting you everytime you get in the car. lol

Look on craigslist, there should be some cheap ones up there. Wal-mart sells the adaptor connectors for $8 :goodjob:

That sucks that you didn't have music. I usually have my Iphone plugged into my Pioneer head unit. Sometimes I don't really have music going like if someone is riding with me and telling me where to go or I'm having a discussion.

There's a relay with a 10mm bolt on it under the dash, pull that, and soak it in rubbing alcohol. Once you do that, dry it with a hair dryer. The closer the hair dryer is, the faster it'll dry. Reinstall and VOILA! Radio.

Sounds like a set up:ninja:. But my antenna doesn't go up at all and it used to and it needs to for my radio to work.

Fine. Test the power wire at the antenna to see if it's getting power. If not, check to make sure the radio is putting out signal.

Lol it was a set up. I just need to see why the antenna won't go up and I'm good I looked at all the wiring today and it seems ok.

i usually just plug my ipod into my pioneer as well. evan the xplod is still hitting hard even from my amp. lol

attention to anyone wanting a cheap setup: get the $50 amp from walmart. 200w peak but its damn good for what it is. lol evan can vouch!

I actually prefer driving without music sometimes. helps me concentrate. I can hear the rattles and squeaks of my axles and shocks lol. but if I were on the road for 1hr+ in silence, I would probably be bored out of my mind

I ended up getting some PC Speakers, plugging them into a power inverter and then running my Walkman through it.

memory cards are super cheap, 2gb starts at around $6 and 4gb starts at around $12
