Wow...that's insane. Sad too, is there a river or creek or something around there that flooded or did it just build up?

There's a small lake back there. If you've ever driven down Bells Ferry or New Chastain Rd. you will notice a couple of bridges. That same creek also flows across there backyard and creates a small lake area. As far as the window and garage door being up I guess they had to climb in to get some important things out of the house. That house along with one behind mine are on a flood plain. The house behind mine on the cul de sac is fine and they have a little water on the bottom of the shack behind their house. There is also another home on the other side of the neighborhood that is flooded, but I can't even get halfway down the street to take pics.

By the way the horse barn was huge and now it's completely gone. It's broken and floating in pieces.

Pics taken around the Chamblee-Dunwoody area just inside 285. The water next to the apartments was about 10ft deep. The big water fall is actually a old mill wall....and the water is just a couple feet deep. Gotta love idiots driving through moving water on North Shallowford Rd. I ended up helping push 2 fucking retards out of there because they hydro-locked their engines. The water behind the houses is coming from a very small creek that sits all the way back at the tree line that is way beyond the fence. Oh and these were all taken when the water was still rising!!! It went up about another 2-3 feet after I put the camera away.

I know in Augusta where I'm from, if you live on a flood plain you have to buy flood insurance with your house.

Well that's good, I hope they had it then. :( I couldn't imagine that happening, and then not having insurance. Crazy. I live on top of a small mtn, so if our house gets flooding it won't matter b/c the rest of GA will already have been under water for days.

I'm pretty sure they had flood insurance. I learned later that due to the creek and lake back there it was declared a flood plain and the people behind me are also on that plain and they had to purchase flood insurance when they bought the home because of it. I know my house is not on it. All the water broke through and is now GONE! That's how fast the stuff moves with nothing to hold it back. Here are some pictures I took this morning.

damn, that was quick. I just noticed that they left a window open....I'm assuming no one was home during the flood? That's crazy though to look at the before and after pics. The water was almost touching the b ball net and now its all gone.....crazy.
