Couple of mine, Supra was done for a friend as a going away/birthday present. It's a replication of his car, took a bit of time to get all the kinks worked out for the custom parts.

ESPECIALLY THE LIP KIT! (Damn near 3 hours to get it trimmed and fitting properly)

The #23 Xanavi Nismo got an overall 10/10 at a local show.
Anyone else? I know I can't be the only one...

It's the only way to pass the winters where I'm at, aside from work and tons of PS2.

I ordered them through HobbyTown USA. Since they carry Tamiya brand models, they should be able to get any of them that are still in production. The JGTC model can either be the #23 Xanavi Nismo, or the #22 Motul Pitwork R-34. The blue R-34 is a V-SpecII kit, it's got a couple differences than the V-Spec kit, mainly the NACA duct in the hood, exhaust, rear wing, brake rotors, and it comes with stock 6 spokes, and a set of Nismo GT4s (pictured) and I think that's it.

Yup, I fabricated the front lip on the Supra and the exhaust. I also made a roll cage for an GTR-32 I built last year, and I'm working on a replication of my 90S13 right now. I've got a lot of older models lying around, ones that didn't turn out well that become parts donors. Hell, half of that white Supra was made of parts taken off another car!

Well, usually only certain things can get used. For instance.
In order to create that lip for the Supra, I took the front end off the F&tF Supra model, which was destined to be a donor car. Namely b/c it was by ERTL, but I digress.
I took the Bomex front end from that kit, and cut it to where it was just the bottom part. And then I kept on trimming and test fitting until I felt that it sat right on the car, then I glued it on, and painted it. It sucked, b/c the center of the lip was SUPER thin, and it almost broke a couple times, and I can't even remember how many times I stabbed myself while carving that sumbitch.

Hey what do you fab parts with? I want to mke a replica of my car, but there are no stcok elcipse mods made. So I start with a least riciest one I could find but gave up cause it was taking forever. But I was planning on getting back into it...so wat did you use to make custom parts?

Usually I use model pieces off of other kits that either broke, or turned out like crap. That white Supra was my 2nd attempt at an APU Supra. The first one was awful; sags in the paint, the muffler pointed down, the turbo was facing the wrong way, etc. I didn't pay attention to detail.
I've got about 19 model kits that aren't even unopened. Mainly JGTC cars, and a couple other sport compacts, and 2 motorcycles.
I usually come up with some crackhead idea in my head for a custom model, and I go digging through my crap to see if I have the necessary parts, FMICs, turbos, pipes I could use for exhaust, seats, etc. and try to imagine it in my head before I decide if it's worth losing $24-35 on a kit if it doesn't turn out right. 9/10 times I don't care and do it anyways, which is probably why I've gone through 4 Skyline R-34s before that blue one I put up.
There's also websites that do custom parts. I ordered 2 BRIDE Brix II seats from a website that does parts for Tamiya kits. C-West replica body kits, wings, etc. I can't find the link now, I'll try to get it later.
Ninja Edit: I want to say that I've seen a kit for a stock 2G Eclipse, but I want to say it was for a 95-96, not a 97-99 like yours. I'll try to find it again.

Here's your stock Eclipse I mentioned:
It's a 2n1 kit by Revell, which means it can either be 100% bone stock, or the crazy/F&tF modded look. They always put the modded look on the box, but I'm sure it looks alright. Revell's kits piece together pretty well, and it's a plastic kit, so you can paint it any color.

Here's the custom parts online store, they've only done a few non-Tamiya models, though.

Hrm, that's wierd, b/c all the other 2n1 kits I ever got (Civic hb, ITR, and 99-00 Si coupe) all had the stock option. Do you have any pics?
Hit me up on AIM (AFSil80) if ya want.

final somebody besides myself buys model cars for just the parts.
I'm make a model of the wifes prelude. well I needed a set of momo racer wheels. Since nobody makes them I found them on a model kit in japan. Ordered the kit and used the wheels.
I've probably got around 80-90 built and a good 200 plus unbuilt.
I've got some rare and hell ones. My prize and joy is a 1/12" skyline r32. I found it on ebay for $50. The japanese sit I go to usually has then for around $125 up then shipping from japan at $30-40 dollars and 3 weeks later.
I do all kinds of kits.
My dad's birthday present two years ago was a 1/12th vincent black shadow. Took me a good 3 months to build it.
Right now I'm working on a 55 chevy wagon. The wife wants a real one but this so far is all I can afford. I've done a 2 tone paint job. Got the chassis ready and now building the motor.

I used to do the plastic kits. It was fun painting and customizing them. Kinda easy to customize them with a sharp exacto knife and a lil bit of heat. hehe
