Equipped with a 20v blacktop 4AGE - Kelvin qualified for top 16 during the single runs and had to face the Batlground S14, then a boosted IS300 to qualify for Top 4. After moving on, Kelvin was able to take 3rd place against the Drift Emporium G35 (supercharged V8). He was later knocked out by George in the red s13, who took 2nd place.

It was the classic David vs Goliath theme. You have to give it up for all the drivers. It’s not easy following an AE86’s slower line when you have to control a car with way more horsepower. Congrats to all the drivers. Congratulations Kelvin!! I’m so proud you, dude!

Take note: There was a no passing rule in effect. Hitting cones and straightening out counted against the drivers. Spinning out, even if it was at the very end, counted heavily against final scores.

The video is posted here (http://puregroove.org/blogski/2009/09/18/local-hachi-roku-hero-places-at-southeast-drift-challenge-ii/).

Enjoi!! :bump::bump::bump:

i like how the other two that placed had a pro shop looking cars and full race suits, then this Kelvin guy jumps out of his backyard car in a white tee. Looks like it came out of the movies.

hmmmm correct me if i'm wrong but he finished 3rd. He losed to a red S13 so he's on the podem. so that only leaves one spot. that means one of the g35's didnt make it. so how did he get his ass whooped by both of them :???:
plz explain

Amazing video and Kelvin did a great job, and you too Leon for giving up your harness so he could make it there at all. You guys are awsome and make a great team. Thanks for reminding everyone that the AE platform is still competive. And Thanks Eddie for getting the proof of this for everyone to see

I lol'd at the G35 having to take a really odd line to slow down and to avoid passing (around 3:35ish).

The guy obviously has talent but the no passing rule is what held the others back.
