Jake,
I am not looking to make this transaction issue public but am becoming increasingly concerned as none of my pms or phone calls are being returned. I am not asking much, I would appreciate it if you would just spend a moment or two to just let me know what is going on.
I am sure you and captain obvious got my PMS, if not then please check them upon reading this thread.
Thanks,
Vang

I am being ignored. Was informed that he is actively doing work for other members and is actively responding to them as well. No longer 72 hours. If I don't receive a response by Sunday after two then I have no choice but to leave you negative feedback, inform members of the quality of service i've received, and to pursue further action.
Here's just one of my many problems. The rest is to be heard later.

Its really simple. I did some paint work for him, and he is a nit picky pain in the ass. I dnt have a paint booth, so i painted it in my garage. I do believe saying that its a hit or miss if you get a few bugs or dirt in it. I also tinted his headlights and taillights. The tails has some water spots on them from the compressor, and the heads were not the "right shade" of tint. And i also fixed the small back winglet also. I retinted the heads and tails, and repainted the small winglet. As i was buffing the headlights, my 2yr old son was in the garage with me and accidently knocked over one of his taillights. It took a small chip out of the bottom of the taillight. I called you and told you what happened, and that you didnt have to pay me anything. You said thats fine. I repainted the small winglet and it ooked fine. It must have still been tacky when it started raining. When i pulled the car outside of my garage, it was not raining at all. I had a mother-in-laws birthday that evening, and wasnt able to wait around.

I can read, asshat. But when you post something on a PUBLIC FORUM, that's out in the open. I'll post as I please. Well, the OP said if the transaction didn't envolve me, I shouldn't post. Then I said, he should take it to PMs, just being the asshole I am. GET IT???
Maybe you should remember what forum this is and that the laws of posting only go towards noobs..

I'm nit picky, Jake? The driver's side tail is chipped and the passenger's side is cracked. You told me it wasn't noticeable, thus my reason for not making a deal out of it. OEM tails costed me 300+ bud. I am not EVEN asking you to compensate for ANY of that. The entire tail tint job is spider webbed and you did that at a shop.
I believe I have been very patient with you. I told you in PM that all I would like you to do is fix that rear part. I am not looking to ruin your reputation or start some kind of flame thread. I am not that kind of person. I tried PM'n you and calling you several times.
Honestly, Jake. If you look at that rear valence photo and the fact that my tails are cracked. Can you REALLY tell me i'm a nit picky pain in the ass? Is this really how you want to do business?

How long have you had the car back?? You're just now saying something about it?? Do you have any idea how hard black is to paint. With some wet sanding and buffing those pieces will look great... Ask me how I know... I know for a fact that car has been gone from Jakes for over 2 weeks. This means you had to go pick the car up from him, right?? Even if you had a friend pick it up, I'm sure you would have instruted them to look over the car before driving it off. These issues should have been addressed the day of delivery. Then you could have left the car with him again, and he could have fixed the problems. Then this thread would not have been needed.
Just how I see things...

Purp,
I picked up the car a few days ago. It was a bad situation as he told me it was done but had somewhere to go and left me my keys in the mailbox, in which I ok'd. It was also raining very heavily so I couldn't see anything. Regardless, he wasn't there but I pm'd and called him the very next day when I noticed it and haven't been responded to since today.
The first time around the tint job had holes or water marks all over so he just told me to bring it back another time to get it wet sanded and buffed.
This is what it looked like before the painting a few days ago, I asked him about the scraping marks and he just told me he'd repaint it.

Like i said, it must have still been tacky when it started raining cause it was fine when i put it on the car. I never noticed the passenger side tail, or i would have said something, like i did with the drivers. Sorry, but i am not gonna be doing any work on any cars for a while anyway. I have to have time to spend with my family, and work to do on my house. Painting cars and parts in my garage has taken a toll on my house.
So sorry for everything Jack, but i am finished with any kind of paint work in the garage for the time being.
Well, if he had prior engagements, and didn't know the rain was coming, why make this thread? He can't control the weather. I know you know that. If he said he was gonna fix it, why make this thread? Jake is an honest person and a great family man. Things happen. like your lights. He didn't charge you for the job. why bring it up? He called as soon as it happened, right? What I'm seeing is someone that's impatient. Meaning you. Jake has a family to take care of, but if he says he will fix something, I know for a fact he will. This thread is pointless in my eyes. I feel for you, because I know how it is to build a car/paint it/blah blah.... but NORMAL people, people with families have other priorities. Jake usually only gets on IA at night, after he's had some drinks. Giving you a response might not have went well...lolol... as for the phone calls. I also know that his phone was giving him issues. That also happens and is unpreditible.

-Didn't know he had prior engagements until the last minute
-Was told the tails and heads are being done at a shop
-Family and business should never be mixed, even though I am very understanding when it comes to it
-He's a grown man, i'm sure he could speak for himself.
Aside from the comments I just made your post was actually pretty heart felt, no-homo. He's a really nice guy, it's just a bad situation overall and from the looks of it i'm not going to get anything else fixed or compensated for.
Awesome :bump:

Jake can speak for himself, as he has already in this thread.
Just one last question from me. Are you the same young man that had issues with The Bucky?? He painted a 350z bumper that looks like yours. Anyways, the same thing happen to The Bucky. The guy paid a hella good price and loved the work when he came and picked it up, but hated it when he got home... Just wondering if this is the same car/owner.

I think you guys should really come to an agreement, im not trying to say anything but you can't blame the errors that happened to the car on your kids and the weather, i went and looked at the 350 today and it was not worth what sixth paid for it. the paint didn't even look like it was prepped for the paint, and the tint could have been better for the $$$. i also noticed the black paint on the fenders and the hood, which i don't know how got there, it feels like a primer that hasn't been sanded down yet and the paint feels rough. also i saw the car before the car was done, and the tires were still kinda new with the markings still on, and now it looks like it's been ran a couple times. I've also seen 4uh8ers paint jobs before and they looked a lot better than the paint on the Z. I'm just stating what i saw the car before and how it turned out after hope you guys can work something out im not taking sides im just stating the facts.

And he better had the car done for free as he CRACKED the taillight, which are $300+ to replaced and left a scratched on one of them. I'd be really pissed... Sixth_vang is actually really calm.

Am I upset? A bit, but never should anyone be hurt or should I raise my voice over something like this.
I've accepted that Jake will not return my calls or pms. I've accepted that the only apology I will receive is the one on this thread, if you want to call that one.
I leave you with this. As a man who told me that he takes "much pride in his work" and has informed me that "the car would not be back into my hands until you were satisfied" leaves me to much dismay. I will not pursue small courts or any other course of action other then negative feedback.
For you to have called me a "nit picky pain in the ass" just comes to tell me that your standard of work was is below average. Any person with two eyes and common sense can tell that it clearly looks like garbage.
Do and say what you will amongst your cronies, you weren't the ones that paid to have your car trashed.
