View Full Version : Got my new wheels for the 83 Civic wagon

I finally got around to getting tires put on my new wheels, and I had time to snap one quick picture. Hopefully I can get some more tomorrow to really show how nice they look on there.

You may notice the wagon is now back up to stock height so that I can get a plan on how to properly lower it. The wheels are 15x7 35mm offset Rota RB's in gunmetal with a polished lip. I tried to run them with the center caps, but they wouldn't fit with the hubcentric rings.

I"m pretty happy with how they look and the ride is pretty nice. I really like the car.

Hope you enjoy...more updates coming. I've got to get a bunch of stuff off of my parts car and then get this biatch painted.

Peace !

Thanks guys. I need to steal a door off my parts car and some new front seats out of it, the windshield and a couple other things, then take this bad boy to sprayglo or maaco...or take it to my backyard and spray bomb the hell out of it :)

I want it that glossy army green color, which is why that one rear fender is painted like that. I think it will look killer.

Charge the AC back up, look for a cheap radio, and of course I have to put a new exhaust on since this one broke off. I think I'm just going to do a little magnaflo muffle tucked up underneath so you never see it and it won't be too loud.

I thought about a little canister of some sorts, but I don't want it to look ricey or crappy. Just a nice clean old skool vibe.

To be honest, I was looking for a set of Momo Quasars or I.D.E.A. rims in 14'' or 15'' to really be a perfect early 90's cruiser, but I think all the VW guys have snapped them up.

Glad you guys like it. I still miss my 04 STi, but this is a great airport car I think. Fun to drive too by the way

I love it. Lower it though. Keep up the good work, keep us updated also.

I'd like to lower it again, but I really want to do it correctly. It was low, but the rear springs all cracked from being inverted, and although I thought the front was creative, Jonathon basically used the stock top hats with DC intgera struts and it dropped the hell out of it.

It doesn't sit that high honestly, so it's really just closing up that fender gap. I want to do some research and find a good way to lower the front at most an inch and probably some small blocks would do the trick in the back since it has leaf springs.

But if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open. I think it would be hilarious to find a used airbag kit and lay it out, but I'm not going to put that kind of time into it. I've got a wife and baby and we're restoring a 1860's home, so I've got plenty on my plate...

Plus my Tundra is begging me for a lift and some nice wheels and tires. We'll see I guess :)

Ha ha... Thanks Glides...you were right. I have a crazy idea for a swap in it, but it's fun to just put around in it. Talk to my friend and it will go to his exhaust shop next week.

Thanks for the props Brett, hope you're good dude. Glad you're still on here

Yeah, I remember, I drove a honda accord 1979 for $500 with manual transmittion back then when I went to high school. They are very smooth. Only thing I change is the water pump. But the car is not as nice as this one of course.

great car that you have.

Dropped the car off at my friend's muffler shop. Going to get some new pipe and a nice magnaflo tucked up underneath it. Plus, getting a new windshield while it's there. Pumped. Thanks for checking it out

Well, you guys are going to laugh at me again...

I just picked it up from my friend's exhaust shop. Sounds great, drives great, and i'm going to sell or trade it.

It's just not my perfect project and since time is limited when I'm home, I really want to focus on my old plymouth and maybe something else...who knows.

Anywho, If you know someone who's wanting a fun ride, I gave a lot of thought to taking this to Dan @ Batlground with a wrecked S2000 and having him throw the swap in there for a killer ride that no one would expect.

Since it has leaf springs in the back, you could totally tuck a nice rear end under there, massage the firewall a bit, and have a fuel injected beast that no one would ever see coming...

Just not for me though. Love it

t

You'd have to cut out the firewall and floorpan and graft in a hump for the bellhousing/transmission and a tunnel for the driveshaft. Remember that the floor pans in the early Hondas are just about flat, the little hump that they do have is just barely enough for the shifter, exhaust, and E-brake cables :ninja:

Other than that, its an awesome idea

Totally.... I didn't mean to make it sound like that would be easy for me...someone like dan has the skills and know-how to make it work. I just think it would be cool and still in the Honda family.

Dude keep this car. Im telling you now...there is something about owning a wagon man...you cant get the feeling from anything else. As much as ive loved all my other cars, ive never felt more G then when im crusing around in the wagon. I have an Ae86 rotting in my back yard cause id rather drive the wagon.

I have to agree with Rumplestilskin here. We can't make you keep it, but I can tell you from experience that you will want another one. And after a few months you will be back on here lamenting about how you are looking for another one because you miss it, tears will fall, you will start calling ex-girlfriends, getting drunk and passing out on their lawns in your underwear.......TRUST me, it is never a good sight for an ex to see you sprawled on the lawn in your skivvies man.
