each year they kept getting "softer" to try and sell to the mass'
just to name a few examples: head cushion, rollhoop speakers, passenger glove box, softer suspension...

I still like the AP2's the best.

AP1 owner's say AP1 FTW bc they couldn't afford to buy AP2. SAD, but it is true & you all know it.

1st: never heard of an opinion based on price alone haha!
2nd: im highly confused by this statement to where im really wondering why im even responding to it but...ALL s2000's brandnew have been listed for 32-35k regardless of the year and hec fyi a lot of the early year models sold for closer to 40k cause of bs dealers jacking up the prices cause they could.
ssssooo yeah definantly a random post :blah:
but hey everyone has an opinion just like everyone gots an asshole so it is what it is

You're crazy as hell Jacob! When I was buying mine, there was an ap1 and an ap2 at the dealership. I didn't even bother to look at an ap2.
AP2 is the better CAR. AP1 is the better S2000 :goodjob:

Lolol. I wasn't trying to be a dick. If I came out that way, my bad.
I used to own AP2 myself.. and from my opinion - interior, exterior and power is much better than the AP1. The redline is 1k shorter but who's counting?
And I wasn't talking about brand new prices.. Even used prices, AP1's go for 10k all day these days.. AP2's maybe you can get one for 15-16k.
Anyways, my point is that I believe AP2 is a better car overall when compared to AP1. :)

Ok can you please explain to me the difference between the better performance car vs better car? That sounds like an oxymoron to me.
How do you get a better performance car when AP2s have :
-better torque output
-increased motor's displacement from 1997cc(ap1) to 2157 cc (ap2)
-better compression
-better valve timing
-better accelaration each gear
-throttle pedal travel shortened and pedal effort increased
-tighter secondary gear reduction ratio
-redesigned clutch and clutch case
-Traction control
-better redesigned differential
-gear fatigue resistance improved by 5%
-better suspension to enhance steering and accuracy
-better wheels and wider.
-better brake system
-better master cylinder ratio
-better ABS system
and much more.

well thats only an excuse to make the s2000 any different from the ap1 they cant make the same car for 10 yrs and not change anything. they have to move up to date with technology. i understand why you say the ap2 is a better car but upgraded some things and down graded

This still doesn't answer my question.. and you were picking AP1, so you were picking that side.

even with this "beautiful" list you laid out bf us ap1 compared to ap2 still comes down to a drivers race. Seen both win over one another in to many times to say completely performance wise one is better than the other
the cars were made to perform the same simply with different parts

well im about to get a ap2 as my next car if i truely felt ap1 was a better car i woulda got another ap1 but like i said i like the newer parts on the ap2. when i said "thats it" i was goin according to your list. they made all those upgrades but only produce like a few more tq. only reason i got a ap1 cuz i couldnt find a ap2 at a reasonable price. i agree with you, ppl that buy ap1 cuz they dont have enough for the ap2 i paid my ap1 all cash i could have bought a ap2 easily but i didnt want to deal with payments. thats just me. freakin honda owners not you jacob ;)
