An Army recruiter called my buddy once. He told him that he was gay. He then asked if he had any friends that would be interested in joining and he told him that all his friends were gay too. I was in the car with him while he told him this. I damn near burst into laughter.

you can't go wrong with service. make the right decision. air force is for those who want to stay safe, and on base. Army is a challenge, and since you're already in Georgia, you should go for rangers, and if you think you got the balls and the mental ability go for SF.

http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/4421/yeauv.jpg

You will never be the same. Adventures that only others can dream of.

Can't go wrong with marines either, still leaves you eligible for SEALS. Although i dont know anything about you, so i dont know how serious you are about the military. As most say "I thank god for every day he gives me in the core." Once you're in, you'll love it, or you'll hate it. But if you go, go all the way, or you will find that life will be difficult.

What do you want to do while your in and even more important, when you get out?

I was in the Air Force and loved every minute of it. I've been all around the world, stayed in the best hotels, ate the best chow, never slept in the dirt, and got one hell of a job when I got out.

You can't really go wrong with any of the Forces.

I lived next to an Army base and played hockey for the Ft. Richardson team in Alaska so I know a very little bit about Army life. From what I did see it seemed to me that the Army treated their people like little kids. Where as the Air Force for the most part treated us like Adults. Of course you still had dumb ass rules you had to follow, but you'll get that from every branch. It just seemed the Army had alot more dumbass rules to follow.

For me it all boils down to what do you want to do in life, and your quality of life.

LOL. in what mindset do you think that the rangers and special forces have no adventure in their job? Maybe you should research a bit. If you join either one of these organizations it will become your life, not your career. If you are LUCKY you might be able to get a high enough ASVAB and PT times to go to BUDs. Requirements of a Marine are less than the NAVY. Marines/Army will take justa bout anybody with a highschool diploma and any background, as long as there are not multiple felony's with drugs/assault or of that nature. Then i'd like to see you pass hell week, or even the first week of BUDs. If you want to go into the Marines to just be a Marine, then by all means, enjoy the front lines and little excitement soldier. You will be in the desert with nothing to do 95% of the time and your life will be miserable. I suggest you try a special ops group, if you can cut it, you talk big, lets see where you go.

The fact that you're debating between marines or air force leads me to believe you might have a trail of vagina between those legs. I think if this is a debate, you should stick with Air Force and take the easy road.

I'm going to talk to him tomorrow or friday. I would love to go to tech school for computer related stuff. but i dunno whats going to happen. thats why im going tomorrow to talk to both the marine and air force recruiters.

No you're a pussy because you are CONSIDERING THE AIR FORCE. If you're not going to just be a marine, what is it you plan to do? sniper? recon? lots of options, none of which you will be approved for due to your background. So maybe you should think over your decision. If your original recruiter didn't want you, then believe me when i say they are getting you in to stick you into combat, you have no other choice.

A Corps (pronounced /ˈkɔər/ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPA_for_English) "core"; plural /ˈkɔərz/ spelled the same as singular; from French (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_language), from the Latin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin) corpus "body") is either a large formation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formation_(military)), or an administrative grouping of troops within an armed force (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armed_force) with a common function such as Artillery or Signals representing an arm of service. Corps may also refer to a branch of service such as the United States Marine Corps (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Marine_Corps), the Corps of Royal Marines (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Marines), the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honourable_Corps_of_Gentlemen_at_Arms), or the Corps of Commissionaires (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corps_of_Commissionaires)

The Army & Navy require a minimum score of 31 to enlist, Marines 32, Air Force 36, & Coast Guard 40.

yes that is a true AFQT score. i took the practice test again today. first time i did 67 there. online test are scored different. but yes that is Category II. I want to get Category I, but he said not to worry about it that it was good enough, unless I wanted to do higher. I told him I do and i feel disappointed, but a lot of the math I haven't used since I was in in like 9th and 10th grad so i don't remember it all. They were also interested in my musical talent since I am pretty good at percussion. I have been playing drums since i was old enough to pick up sticks and beat on something. Played all thru middle school and high school. I was in concert, symphonic, jazz, and marching band. I'm trying to find a piano or keyboard that i can use to refresh my memory on all 13 scales and harmonic scales. I remember most but I need a refreshment on all to make sure I still got it. There was another officer in the room and was like you know your stuff. He was like I'll tell you what get your stuff took care off then let me know and I'll let you audition in front of me and if I think your good enough I'll get you a auditioned for the Marine Band. I got a AFQT score of 97 on the Form 18/19 ASVAB in 1998. 2 people scored higher and the one that made a perfect 99 graduated from Georgia Tech and is now a computer programmer for AirTran. Imagine that lol! The 97 qualified me for 'basic underwater demolition' yet the Navy wasn't interested in me being a SEAL. They just wanted to put me on a sub, I said no SEAL then no signature. Simple as that. I refused to sign my life away if they weren't going to offer me a chance to be a SEAL. If I don't make it through BUD/S then that's my fault. I should have pursued it in a different direction since they weren't interested in offering it to me.

The ASVAB scoring changed in '04 though probably making what I made then in the lower 90's since. I've been tempted to go take it for shits & giggles.

If they didn't offer you BUD/S it wasn't because they didn't feel like it. Your PT obviously wasn't up to par. Or you had medical irregularities. Anybody qualified for BUD/S may go, period.

man i got so fucking sick of hearing from recruiters during my senior year of HS it wasn't even funny. I was in JROTC and the Major suggested that I take the ASVAB, so I went to RAFB and scored a 95. I STILL get phone calls from recruiters occasionally. But hey that's just my personal choice. I don't want to be in the military, but I certainly do appreciate those people out there who ARE in service for giving me the choice!

Anybody qualified for BUD/S may go, period.I was definitely in shape but did have both knees operated on two years before. Out-patient arthroscopic procedures to free them of bone fragments after years of seriously abusing them. Doctors said I couldn't ever play soccer again or I'd most likely need total knee replacements before I was 30. :screwy: That was right after being told I could walk on to Clemson's soccer team instead of being a junior in high school, just one more year of keeping a B average and I could go. 29 now and just started playing again less than 2 years ago with no problems...sometimes wish I had kept playing!

But then I think about it, could have played soccer and gone to school for architecture, busted my ass in school and working for 6-7+ years straight to get registered and I'd still most likely be out of a job today lol! Fail.

Now back to the regularly scheduled program.

Air Force = Easy? Take a look at the PT standards, we might not be there with the Marines but the Air Force is far from a walk in the park. I thought the same till I got in and saw some pretty hard core MF'ers in the AF, totally different view now.

But on the flip side sometimes I think I should have gone into the Marines. They seem much more disciplined and I respect that immensely.

lol thanks guys. its like i said tho on some of this shit i had to scratch my head cause i haven't used it since high school. I had to go back to my 10th grade year of advance math classes. I was like how the fuck does this shit go again........ but all in all i think i done good considering i only took the online practice test 3 times and for the first time 2 weeks ago when i start seriously debating this. but like i said the score i made is no where near good enough for me and my standards i at least want a 90. hell i want it so bad i can taste it. so this means i gotta hit the books, online books that is. the only part i have trouble with is the math section. everything else is pretty easy to me.

Im fully aware of the PT for AF. I'm also fully aware of what the AF does. The PT and basic is roughly the same for all camps.. it's what you do when you get in that determines whats easier. Fact is, Airforce stays on a base, 99% of the time. Hardly ever are they stationed in the heat, in a tent with no ammeneties. There's hardcore MF's in every outfit.. but it's safe to say that the AF is full of none hardcore MF's.

haha its why once I've enlisted and done my term, I'll debate if I want to re-enlist in SpecOps or not.

A cool job they have that is really starting to boom is Maritime Police. They are pretty much like Military Ops protecting the States water from Terrorists, Pirating, or illegal things happening on the coasts land and water. I know the Coast Gaurd does that mostly but they need more surveilance and backup on the Land/water to seek out piracy and terrorists before it happens. They train in the water: swimming above and underwater, land tactics so it's basically like a navy seal but not so highly merited. Some info on it: http://www.aprodex.com/mpi-maritime-police-international-1392-l.aspx

Well Seals training is so much harder and technical than Maritime Police, so of course.
