I need some new tires and when I went to my local rim shop here (not just any normal tire shop) the guy was really hesitant about saying he could put them on and I dont want him fuckin the wheel up. So anyone know who does it? Its a 225/45/17 on a 10.5(I think) wheel. Thanks :ninja:

Go to a used tire place in the country somewhere. They usually know what they are doing, at least around Conyers and Covington. I got my back tires stretched, I believe same width on the rims.

lulz.

:D

I tried 3 places before a place could mount them. Don't use any big places, they won't touch them. Ask if they have a "cheetah". They have to use that to mount them.

yeah, great tire size really.

I run a 225/40 on a 10 normally.
i do it for clearance.

stretching tires is good for drifting. thats the only reason i would run stretch tires. so that more of the tire is on the ground. the only bad thing is when you blow a tire your pretty much ridding on the rim.

I thought the whole FAD of streching tires was done so that underpowered cars could spin the tires better. it takes less power to spin a 225 on a 10" wheel than on a 7.5" wheel. In jdm land they call it demon camber.

so why would andy sapp, cody wellons, sammy from tiger racing run stretch tires if it didnt serve a purpose. and they all run a 9.5 wheel. im about to try to run a stretch tire to drift on so i can see what this is all about. 195 on z wheels.

nvm. its for fitment reason. to clear fenders im assuming for wide ass tire and less sidewall flex

This subject gets pretty heated, it bothers me when people talk without knowing anything. Not being a dick, just trying to inform.

Ok,

In drifting, stretched tires increases sidewall rigidity. So, less sidewall flex. NO, the tires will NOT come off if you hit a pothole. NO, they do not unbead themselves.

Stretched tires is also for CLEARING FENDERS. You can't be flush without a bit of stretch.

For example. My old whip. These wheels would not fit if I ran 335's. There are no spacers. The wheels bolt on like this.

Anything that can be sprayed inside the tire, and then lit.

stretching is stupid, the only reason i did it was bc I took the tires off the front rims and put them on the back since they were new, and replaced the front. I just had bought the car a week before that so didnt have the money for new tires.

Lol damn this thread is old.

Like Logan said I needed a stretched tire because on our previous vehicle (the one he pictured) you cant fit the ACTUAL sized tire that needs to be on the rim.

Anyways a small local tire shop right down the road from my house did it. All they need is a Cheetah

Yeah, cause tire size has everything to do with camber. stupid fuck. :goodjob:

Just gonig to throw this out there, not bashing or anything.

I HATE stretched tires and I see no benefit. IF it is for clearance, buy a damn wheel that fits. That is all.
