I thought this punishment was uncalled for. blount was minding his own business when hout put his hands on blount first, provoking him to react. so what type of punishment will hout receive?

It wasnt a normal fight. The dude just came over and did a little taunting, nothing out of the norm. Its not like he maliciously grabbed him or pushed him. Then Blount threw a sucker punch. And he didnt hit him and immediately leave the staduim. He was physically removed from the field by security and police officers while he was still stuggling. He even got into it with 2 of his own teammates. That guy is a complete fucking idiot and deserves it. AND he was already suspended at the first practice of the summer for behavior.
You act up in college football, you can kiss your career as a pro player good bye, plain and simple.

it always amazes me the ammount of people that come to the defense of someone doing something extremely stupid. What type of person are you if you view this as acceptable?

so its ok that hout came way across the field to put his hands on blount and taunt him when he was minding his own business? im not saying blount should go unpunished, but I dont think the whole season being taken from him was fair. most likely he will still get drafted by a team.

Blout was suspended for the season for what happened AFTER the punch, the punch alone wold have only gotten him 3 or 4 games.

I also agree he got exactly what he deserved. The kid is a thug and based on his behavior, obviously a drain on society.

Ore is doing right by him though. They are not kicking him off the team, yet. They will allow him to continue practicing, which will keep him in football shape, and he keeps his scholarship. Maybe he will show some intelligence and use the extra time on saturdays to do some studying. You know, just in case some NFL team doesnt want to offer him millions of dollars to represent them.

really, who are you to label one as a drain on society just cause he lost his head due to one provoking him? i would have handled that fan who came running down the stands just to yell "fuck you" differently, but you dont even know him to label him as a drain on society and a thug.

He punched an opponent.

He punched a teammate.

He tried to go into the stands to fight students.

Your boy Blount talked a bunch of shit about Boise State in a magazine article before the season started. I can only assume that Hout probably said something about that article which is why Blount hit him.

Blount is a thug.

And Marcus Vick or Clarett have never played a minute in the NFL. Vick was cut in the preseason.

uh you are wrong, maurice played for the broncos, and vick for the dolphins. my point was that they still were picked up by a team, not the fact that they didnt seize their opprotunity.

Vick was cut in preseason Clarett I don't give a fuck about. They are both worthless pieces of shit who got what they deserved.

As did Blount.

I can label anyone that I want. Blount just happened to live up to the label. Remember, this isnt his first disciplinary issue at Oregon. He was suspended right up to spring practice for off season incidents.

I dont care what a fan says, it is Blount's responsibility to keep his cool and just walk away. You think he was the first player to ever have trash talked to him? Or the first player to have a fan cuss him out? There is absolutely no excuse for Blount's actions.

I wouldnt name somebody a drain on society just because they lose it in a football game, obviously he is a productive person being in college and playing ball. hell everybody talks shit about something throughout their life. I just cant stand folks who try and bash somebody up like they are mr.perfect as soon as someone besides them steps out of line. yeah I do think Blount was out of line by not ignoring the fans, but what about the player that clearly went out of his way to provoke blount? I dont see anyone jumping on him for instigating the whole situation.

lol you are still missing the point that regardless if they acted up in college, they still received a shot at the NFL, blount will as well probably.

Blount sucker punched him plain and simple and acted all bad ass after he did it. What a chicken, Hout taps him on the shoulder and probably said something like Where was our assbeating (Blount stated earlier in the week that they were gonna beat BSU's ass), and after Hout did what he did you can clearly see a BSU staff/coach immediately grab Hout and try to pull him aside to diffuse the situation.

95% fault is on Blount the other 5% is on Hout for even touching him. Taunting that's probably fine, I'm sure it goes on all the time after the game, we just don't hear much about it.

Hout should have got suspended at least 2-4 games for his stupidity.

I'm not suprised you took this side in this argument VIP lol... We always seem to be on opposite sides. Anyways, I don't pay much attention to crappy Smurf and Duck football, but from what I heard Blount had been talking all kinds of trash prior to game... so he couldn't take some trash talk after the game and decided to snap and assaulted an opposing player, a player on his own team and tried to get after the fans... Dude is an idiot and deserved the punishment given.

i think that the punishment is a little unfair but at the same time i can see were action has to be taken. i would have punched the guy in the face too after he intentionally got up in my face said shit and then pushed me twice...they both got what they deserved. on the other note, blount's career isn't over because they released today that he can transfer to a D-II or D-III school and get redshirted and or start playing this season. if he was smart he will take the punishment, continue to train, try to transfer to a D-II school and then declare for the draft.

BanginJimmy

This is his last year of NCAA eligibility. He cannot transfer to another school.

"In order to play this season, Blount would have to transfer to the Division II or III level, according to a person briefed by Oregon's compliance department." came straight from espn. he can still go somewhere and play but it has to be D-II or D-III and he wasn't redshirted at oregon so he could get a redshirt from a D-II or D-III.

and it says that he is just going to finish out at oregon with his studies but he does still have the opportunity to go somewhere else.

True. People have done much worse throughout their college careers and stil get drafted. One punch and trying to hit some fans won't keep him out.

hfp09
09-07-2009, 03:58 PM
i completely agree. but he could just go play somewhere else to for the rest of the season since he has played less than 3 games and get a medical redshirt...so many possibilities if he wants to stay in good shape to go into the draft next year.

hell if he stays at oregon and continues to condition with the team, he will definitely stay in shape.

yea...the way i would look at it is that he is still able to practice with the team but not play, i would just say fuck it and go play somewhere else to have some sort of stats. just my two cents on it.

Pffft nah, DIV I practice>DIV II and III game time.

exactly, obviously blount and the oregon staff knows that he will probably enter the draft and get picked up by a team seeing that he is still eligible to train. I see this as a opprotunity for a team to get him at a good deal because they can use the fact that he sat out his senior year, so this should make for less complications in negotiations.

its kinda like this. he could have handled the situation WAY better than the way he did. so is it right the other guy was talking shit? no, but blount could have fucking kept his shit together and not went over and hit him. he could have went to the locker room and tore it to pieces. did it do it? no. he went and hit a guy. i mean, if you can't take the heat, don't play with the fire right? right.

you fuck up. you get fucked. what more is there to say?
