I have heard everything at the track, since I was 12 years old watching supercars go by in the Paddock, and hopefully scoring a ride. When i'm not there sometimes I like to watch some of the best sounding cars in the world and pretend I don't have work and a test to study for...
Note: turn everything around you down and the volume UP, or you won't get much appreciation for these fine noises.
One of the best ways to listen to the purist sound of a Ferrari is to chase one on the Nurburring, with its top down and his girl riding shotgun,

The best sounding cars in the world (well with less than 600hp i.m.o) should atleast rev to 7600RPM. But 8500 is amazing, especially in a car you could daily drive, some with 4 doors that'll wrap Green Hell in less than 8 minutes with 7 gears.

Arugably the best intake sounds in the world, and why I am building my S54 to sound just like this one (airbox from Europe :D)
