Yeah, it would be better off being a mix tape because it was less than stellar.

Jayz was all the same about 10 years ago.

Is it true 50 is dropping on sept 11 same as jay?

To be honest all of jayz albums I ever bought were mediocre .

What the phack? Are we talking about the same Jay-Z? Please, please, please, respect Greatness when you hear it. This CD is def better that his last album. It may not be crack on wax, but it's a good CD.

Agreed. I give him props as a lasting artist, but to me, he sucks. Can't stand listening to him. Later, QD.

He has had radio pop hits that pretty much perpetuate his success, as far as GREATNESS.....i dont know he just never really did much for me.

His albums were all like 12-15 songs , 2-3 which of were GOOD, the rest was mediocre at best. I just always got the vibe that his albums were just 2-3 good tracks with a bunch of filler put on it.

I have never bought an album from Jay Z where i listened to the ENTIRE ALBUM without stopping. I always have to skip tracks cause of whack beats, or lyrics.

IMO of course

wow... i mean to each his own, but Jay is definitely one of the best to ever do it. i haven't heard this album yet but i'm sure to get it.

the album is ok. its def not one of Jay's great moments. he has been getting lazy on tracks for the past few years. a jay album always has to grow on me. i never really love it at first, but the more i listen....the more i like. but he drops subtle rhymes that are usually not caught at first but are great when you catch them.

I've never been a fan of Jay Z. I will admit that I haven't really listened to his lyrics to know what message he is putting across, but his monotone voice and lack of enthusiasm makes me hate his music. That, and big pimpin on "BLAD's". Please fill me in on what a "blad" is.

I'll never understand why he is thought of as one of the greatest. He's an entrepreneur, sure, but that doesn't make you a good lyricist or make you have good beats.

Haven't heard the new album yet, so I can't respond to that...

Jay-Z has never had a number one single, but he has had 10 number one albums. Only the Beatles have more than him. He may not have the biggest hits on the radio, but he's doin something right!

Exactly. I can't stand the dude. Never have. Just like DN said, he has a monotone, whiny sounding voice and it's irritating to me. I guess the link is down. If I still had the album, I'd forward it to you guys but I deleted about 10 minutes after I finished downloading it. Later, QD.

i just gave it my first honest listen. it is not one of Jay-z's best albums, but its better than 95% of the shit being dropped right now. its a good album. it doesnt give you that "WOW" like the first Blueprint did, but it still is a pretty good album. it doesnt have but 2 or 3 "skip" songs. Jay raps with such confidence and everyone knows that Jay-z's biggest fan in Jay-z. i love his subtle clever rhymes that most ppl dont catch on a quick listen.

PS--cant wait for Drake's album

In all seriousness to address your review, I will agree with your saying it's better than 95% out now. But it seemed, to me, that almost every song sounded alike. And Jay Z has a good right to rap with confidence because of his lasting presence in rap. I don't like him or his style, but I don't deny him as a force in the rap industry. He made his mark.

Check out his first appearance, dude:

Lolol. I remember thinking this track was the shit, lolol. Still think it's cool as hail. Jay comes in often. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5G05v-3CME)

The Originators - Really good track featuring a young ass Z. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4odAKG0QFEQ)

Jaz brought Jay Z to the music biz. Later, QD.

It's Jaz-O, just one Z, for the record, lolol. Later, QD.

Drake's album is already out. It's lame as fawk except one song called "Uptown" feat. Lil Weezy & Bun B, besides the radio hits.

As far as Jay-Z goes, not many people are a fan of him, but he's put out many albums especially back in the late 90's that many people went crazy about.

Personally, I don't like his style, but gotta admit some songs are damn catchy. I gotta also give him some love for hittin' Beyonce's ass all day & night.

EDIT: Later, AS.

Whether or not I like something is not the issue. I post stuff up because I know there are people on here that DO like this. I've always done that.

It also goes to show folks that I don't just speak/post from the hip. I get some of these links and download the track to give it a shot. I'm not going to see that Jay Z has a new record out and turn around and say it sucks ass without even listening to it.

Your post was horrible. It really makes no sense. It took me less time to link to everyone than it took you to write this crap. So it was no trouble at all. Later, QD.
