got busted tonight. Strolled downtown around 9. Soon as i got there i had some younger guys wanting to run my car. Nothing else was goin on so i followed this car out to play around a little. Made a pass right infront of a cop appearantly. I was on down the road and cruising the speedlimit, when the other car comes speeding up to me... then 2 seconds later the car behind him flipped the lights on. I kept on cruising like it was no big deal, the other guy pulled over and then the cop flashed his spotlight at me and came and pulled me over. I dont think the cop would have even recognized my car if not for the other guy pulling up to me. I guess they didnt notice em behind them.

First thing the cop said was " you know i can take you to jail for street racing " i replied " i wasnt street racing " ofcourse... He then says he watched the whole thing happen and asked me again what happened. I said " i wasnt trying to race anyone, its a fast car.. i was definately speeding, what can i say ".. he walks away. asks me to get out of the car, tells me he was my age once and used to do the same thing and that he was gonna do me a huge favor by giving me a slow speeding ticket. I thought for sure i was fucked, he definately had me by the balls. I expressed my gratitude, told the cop he was a good man and thanked em for showing mercy. I couldnt believe how cool the cop was. Most people would take advantage of this freeby and go right back at it... given the bullet i just dodged, driving a car with no insurance, inpropper tag ( using a vanity plate from my other car ) and got caught going between 130-140 infront of a cop.... i think im gonna view this as my luck has run out and leave it on the track.

75 in a 65. I almost busted in my pants when he said that.

this cop was pretty cool, i could tell he had probably been in my shoes a time or 2.

but then again, thinking about it now. He had to do that because he had no proof of how fast you were going. My friend borrowed another friends Lotus, got pulled over for doing 120 in a 30, went to jail and had no charges afterwards because the cop had no radar gun out. Lucky SOB

Lucky break. I think it's more common than people realize that cops are like this. Almost every cop I've talked to used to do the same thing, and if they see you are not doing it in traffic they are USUALLY pretty cool about it. Kind of like "Alright, here's your one get out of jail free ticket, but make this your last night doing it." Certainly not something I'd want to test, though heh

A lot of police departments have policies that state a car gets towed if it has no insurance, I wish they would have done that to you. I'd rather have 10 people on the road with no license than 1 without insurance. It's not about you being screwed, it's about the person you may be at fault in an accident with getting screwed.
