This past weekend the Lamborghini Super Trofeo racing series was in Belgium, running during the same weekend a the famous 24 Hours of Spa. Lamborghini race car manufacturer Reiter Engineering used this opportunity to debut its full carbon-bodied version of the new LP670-4 SV.
Dubbed the LP670 R-SV, the racing version is powered by the same 6.5-liter V12 engine as the street car with 670hp and 487 ft-lbs. Incredibly, as the SV is already a lighter version of the LP640, this race-ready version weighs even less, tipping the scales at just 2,535 lbs.
The LP670 R-SV is the followup the carbon-fiber Murciélago R-GT by Reiter and features a new suspension setup and improved steering thanks to an even wider track. The braking system has also been upgraded with carbon discs and pads and better air ducting to keep the brakes cool over long periods of time.

oh my...670hp and 2,500lbs. The only thing I don't like about it is the front bumper, wonder if Liberty Walk makes one for it yet?

I'd take it. And I want that front bumper too, chances are it does something along the lines of helping you not kill yourself at speed. Looks like crazy downforce, on a car that actually needs it.

That much power with only 2,500 pounds to lug? That's impressive considering how huge the Murcielago is.
Must be scary-fast.

Civic/Integra weighs 2400lbs, I can only imagine this raging bull when let loose. I'd keep me that front bumper/splitter. Functionality > Appearance.

Well that front bumper gives it a whole lot of downforce on the front end at high speeds so it doesnt wreck. Looks are alright, but its designed like that for a reason. Overall car is noice.

Well that front bumper probably cools the engine a sh!t load and gives it a whole lot of downforce on the front end at high speeds so it doesnt wreck. Looks are alright, but its designed like that for a reason. Overall car is noice.
I want you to explain to me exactly how it cools the motor....http://a332.g.akamai.net/f/332/936/12h/www.edmunds.com/pictures/EVOX/2008/Lamborghini/2008.lamborghini.murcielago.20281021-E.jpg

The Murci isn't one of the cars I am about to describe, but there are quite a few rear/mid engined cars with front mounted radiators and coolant passageways along the body for the engine.

I know that there are cars with front mounted radiators. But we aren't talking about those cars now are we?

no, and I stated I was aware we weren't talking about one, but I was pointing out that your picture didn't prove anything because if it did have front radiators, they wouldn't be visible from the front trunk area anyway.

My picture is of a murcielago, Which is the car in question, That doesn't have front mount radiator...It proved that that front bumper didn't help cooling on that car that we ARE talking about. wtf...I understand what you are saying but it has nothing to do with anything we are talking about.

My point from the beginning was that the pic didn't prove it(although ti is true), because the ductway portions of the car are still covered, and wouldn't intersect the trunk area, so the pic could be the same for a car with front rads. Basically, if the Murci did have front radiators, the pic could still look like that.

browningboy-the Lamo has the air ducts on the side of vehicle and that come out at certain speeds to help cool the engine down. The front air ducts I believe are just for the brakes and some downforce designing.
