After waiting over an hour on him in a waffle house parking lot, he finally came with the engine (he forgot parts too)

Said no knocks at all. I open it up drop the oil pan and it looked like I was mining for gold. Nothing but bearing material everywhere. So I proceed to take off the rod caps and drop pistons. Bent rods, spun bearings galore. Thanks man I really appreciate it.

So I call him and let him know whats up- he sleeps on it then calls me back. He tells me that I got it cheap so he doesnt care. The fact of the matter is I want what I paid for. Regardless of price paid, he lied. He claims he didnt hear it knocking... Please look at the pictures and honestly say you dont think that it would make a god awful noise:

Take this engine back to the shop and demand compensation...thats what i would do. This is a terrible way to treat a buyer of something so expensive, that swap with good rings would go for what...1800$?

Now you have to get rods and a crank, probably some block work on the sleeves and an oil pump from metal intake. You've probably got a MINIMUM of 600$ to get all of that made right so it will run again.
