I'm really excited about OSU this year and the rest of the big12. Pretty much the whole roster is returning for the cowboys and with a new defensive coordinator I'm expecting great improvements on that side of the ball. Game 1 against UGA will answer a lot of questions about where they are placed this year. They have the potential to go far this year can't wait!

my take:
1. Bama, UGA, and USC are too high. All 3 lost their starting QB UGA also lost their #1 RB. The 2 combined made up nearly 95% of their total offense last year. USC lost most of their defensive starters to go along with their QB. After the showing against Utah, I have very serious doubts about the quality of Bama's O line and add to that a QB that has no real playing time.
2. PSU is too low. They were 1 game away from going to the NCG last year and even though they lost most of their receiving corps from last year they will still be very strong offensively. They also get back an All-American LB that sat out last year with injury.
3. Florida MUST go undefeated to have a shot at another NC. A loss with their easy schedule should knock them completely out of the running.
4. LSU is too low. They have a QB now and that will make up for their losses on defense. Jefferson Jackson is the real deal in college football.
5. ND should not be ranked at all and Ore St. should be in their place. Ore St. is actually my pick to win the PAC-10 this year if the Rogers brothers can stay healthy all year.

LOL 'Bama is ranked too highly as it is.
The Gators will definitely have to go undefeated to have a chance at the repeat, no doubt about that.
And Utah is ranked too low, IMO.

USC #1.
although we did lose our QB, our OL is back from last year. This is one of the best OL in college football right now. plus, have 3 good RB and good WR and TE this year. Our defense has lost 3 starting LB (all went pro) and lost our starting CB's, we still have great all around defense and plus, we have Taylor Mays as our safetly, which will help the new guys out at CB.

I can agree to a point, but College isnt the NFL. College football is even more centered on QB play than the NFL is and USC is talking about starting Barkley. So USC is going to start a true freshman and be preseason #1? I dont think so. Bottom of the top 10 is the best they should be.

Utah lost some key pieces from last years team, but he core is till there. I think their ranking is about right.
Its nice to see a Florida fan that can see reality. On a sports site I am on, they are convinced that Florida goes if they win the SEC, just because they won the SEC. The SECe is going to be weak this year, no doubt about that. In the west, it could be alot more interesting. Bama has most of the pieces to be very good, but that week 1 game could be very damaging if they lose. Ole Miss lost some of the anchors of the O and D lines. We will see if Sneed can play like he did last year without them. LSU is the real deal if Jefferson plays like he did to end last year.
I pretty much agree with it. I feel like VT should be down a couple notches (as in a worse ranking), but overall nothing too surprising.

Hey man I have no saying problem it, the Gators schedule is pretty damn easy this year and if they can't go undefeated they don't deserve the chance to repeat. Regardless, I can't wait for the season to start, season tickets FTW! And you're definitely right, the SEC West has the potential to be very interesting this year.

I get my new TV on monday so I can have everything PERFECT for the season to kick off. I need to get a couple rear speakers and maybe build an enclosure for a sub I have sitting around to get my surround sound completely up and running.

I can't believe UGA is ranked where they are, especially above Tech after last year's game and the people UGA lost, whereas Tech lost none of their stars and is a young team to boot???
If tech beats VT this year they will win the ACC championship and go to a BCS bowl

I really wouldn't say that just because we have a true freshman that might start we should be bumped down. I mean if you really look at it, a lot of our QB's at USC don't really ever start to play but for 1 or 2 season at most, usually start as a junior because they are behind another QB. Plus, Pete Caroll has a great system, so shouldn't really be a problem. Just like any team, don't turn the ball over.

But those 1 or 2 year starters usually have 1 or 2 years behind another QB to learn the system and pick up clean-up duty to get some real game experience. That sideline time and clean-up time is immeasurable and the exact reason why USC has consistently outstanding QB play.

lol I guess the fact that the whole left side of the line (#1 draft pick andre smith was suspended due to his uncle talking to an agent, and a senior left guard) were injured. Thats the side they ran behind ALL year. Yes Glen Coffee is gone... BUT mark ingram (#22, stud... reminds me of Emmit Smith) and the #1 recruited RB in the country last year are filling his shoes. John Parker Wilson I never have been a big fan of. He crumbled under pressure. Mcelroy is looking decent, and with #8 (Julio Jones) catching passes he is sure to look very impressive. Oh and remember that badass defense we had last year?? we only lost 2 players... so it should be top three in the country. Time will tell my friends

At least I had 1 name right. I was too lazy to look it up and I was going off what I saw against GA Tech 8 months ago.
