Help with Photomatix & HDR

I'm trying to download the trial version of Photomatix on my Macbook and it's not working for some reason.

It's downloading as a Zip peg file through Zip peg and the file is opening up through Terminal, which has never happened for me before.

If I can't get this to work, does anyone know of another software that I can download to create HDR files?

I tried using Photoshop CS4 and it just doesn't come out too well.

no reason really, just a personal thing, i have seen too many people take bad photographs and run them through a software to make them HDR and all of a sudden its looked at like its a great picture. i try not to stereotype HDR photos too much but its hard :(
