Rotors that dont rust?

Do they make rotors that dont get rusty? I am a clean freak and am not knowlegable as most are with car parts. I wan to upgrade the brakes on my lexus is300 and I want them rust free clean and pretty.:D What would I be looking for?

If you drive it and use your brakes, they won't SURFACE rust. If you're referring to the top of them and the centers, use black spray paint

Ahh....I am talking about the top and center. I will just paint them black then. I want to do a rotor up grade and paint my calipers black. Now I just need to find someone to refinish my stock wheels.

they make composite rotors but they are mainly for race applications and cost too much to just daily drive on.

The only ones that won't rust are either the coated aftermarket rotors or carbon rotors. The first option is affordable, the second is not. Brembo rotors are fairly inexpensive and have a cadmium coating that won't rust. It quickly wears off the rotor facing but the hat and edge won't rust. Every time you drive the rotor facing of course will be cleaned off.

but on the maxima forums they sell zinc plated rotors...supposedly they wont rust

What some of you are forgetting is the type of brake compound used on XYZ car. If you're running an organic/ceramic pad, everything will be fine. But if you're running aggressive metallic pad,s the dust will eat through most paints/coatings and help start the rusting process. I run Hawk HP+ pads (moderately aggressive pads for a street car) and if I paint my calipers (which I do when I want the car to look pretty), the paint gets eaten away in a few weeks...or after one track day. I used the same paint on my GF's calipers and almost 2 years later they are still glossy black because she is running the OEM ceramic pads...so don't blame the paint.

zinc hold up pretty well im my experience with semi metalic pads... even better with ceramic
