Hey everyone, i was wondering what would be the best kit to use for a turbo application on a 97 miata. If you have ANY advice i would much appreciate it.

There are a couple different options you could go with. First is the tried and true Flyin Miata kits. These are very good, well designed and complete kits however a little pricey. Next you could do a custom kit with the Megasquirt PNP. This will give you more options to do the turbo kit the way you want. We have done some of both and they both work well.

There are a TON of turbo Miata options...

For some more specific Miata info try these:

www.clubroadster.net
www.miataturbo.net

And, by ALL means, talk to shops like Mainstream that have worked on these cars!! Forums are forums....real shops are the people who make your turbo car run. :)

Mx5 is a bit more friendly than the other two IMO.

Sure as long as you don't say anything as a joke...

Build your own kit, cheaper, and run the MS PNP.

If you don't have any knowledge or good fab skills its easier to buy the Voodoo kit from FM or one of the kits from Begi. Both work great on limited boost but neither will make lots of power because the MAF runs out of resolution quickly on the NA's. Once you switch to a MAP based system you can run over 240whp with a good tune on the stock engine. I too have done a few miata's down here and run a 400whp NB all the time.

LS1 or Windsor swap, forget the snail. You'll be wanting more within a couple months unless you over-do it to start with. :D
