Nissan 4-0 tonight in columbus 8/14

Heard a few people talking about the action in downtown columbus, so i finally rolled out tonight. If you were out and about, the black silvia on stock rubber was me. Pretty dead in the early going untill the mustang guys came out. Gotta love the mustang crowd, theyre always ready to get shit going.

Raced a couple supercharged mustangs, one DOHC with a KB. My car wasnt running very good, was pig rich, died everytime i let off the gas.

race 1 - Supercharged and supporting sohc mustang, 40 roll, me in 3rd and no brake boost. Jumped out about 5 cars and he let off.

Race 2 - Same GT, i gave him a bigger hit so he would stay in it, 40 roll, me in 3rd not brake boosting, drove around em and put about 5 cars.

Race 3 - cobra with a k-bell and supporting, sounded nasty, i thought this car would beat me. 50 roll, 3rd gear no BB, put 3-4 cars on him and walked on the top end.

Race 4 - Same cobra with a pretty nasty looking STI and some turbo civics trying to trail, brake boosted 50 roll, left em like an anchor fell out of his car or something. If i had to put a number on it, 15 lengths. The guy said he was doing 140 and was still fading horribly.

i went to trail a race the WRX was doing from a dig and flooded my car sitting still, they launched, i started my car, took off, passed 2 turbo civics and was pulling hard on the WRX before the brakes came on.

Good night, people were pretty chill. Friendly races this time, i feel like i'll have a target on my back next time out. My lack of driving skill and car being cranky tonight gave some people the impression that i had nothing on the bottom end.

i dont know anyones names. The fastest car i raced was the blue cobra, he popped his hood for me, it had a kenne bell on it and he told me he was running race gas. The fastest import there as far as i could tell was this red civic HB with a turbo, the blue cobra out ran him, so there was no point in that race.

na, its not that fast. I have an idea of where im at judging from what i ran before rebuild. Even if the car had the power to go that fast, i'm pushing the limits of what my drivetrain can handle. I'm running a blitz clutch right now and it doesnt slip at all, on slicks i would break.

He was making just shy of 600whp. Just depends on the setup and driver of course I suppose.

I live 15 minutes from an 1/8 mile track, i've raced some type of mustang my entire life, just needed to shake it up. Kinda tired of drag racing, wanted a highway car. Skyline was my first choice, Silvia is the next best thing.

There were a few spectators that saw it go down, i figured more would have chimed in by now. There were 20-30 cars chilling in the area when this all happened. Also, these were all roll races. I could take a lot of cars that would beat me at the track and out run them from a roll.

However, I don't blame Sinfix...he's just reporting back what was told to him. But I think either the guys he was racing gave him some BS info about their cars, had major problems with the cars, or literally had no clue whatsoever how to drive (it's pretty hard to fuck up a roll race).

The KB Cobra stands out the most, because a KB Cobra on pump gas should be around mid to high 10's at low 130's in the quarter mile. A KB Cobra on race gas (this is a HUGE window of power here, but I'll just take a guess) should probably be 1 - 2 more mph faster than that, and probably a quarter second quicker.

So if you're able to pull 4 cars WITHOUT brake boosting on this car, that means you should be trapping 140+ in the quarter mile. And 140+ trap cars don't race on 205 street tires.

He's running nearly the exact same setup as 1slopos was.

2300-2500 seems kinda low to me Dave s13's weigh like 2700 with a ka. So he saved maybe 100lbs with the sr, 2600lbs+a driver-interior?:thinking:

I must say i think the guy with the cobra was making false #s and you where doing rolls from 40? I layed down low 400 to the wheel and couldn't keep from stepping out at 60-70 a 40 race ends up in the ditch even if i started in 3rd.

^Sr's dont have quite as much instant torque as a ka-t, mine spins like a mofo on street tires shifting 1st to 2nd on low boost but I can roll into 2nd on high boost and it hooks up ok. But his 2871r is going to make more low end then my turbo, either way it sounds like his car runs good for what it is.

I don't have a 2871r, but everyone I know that has one loves them. The ones with the smaller exhaust housing are suppose to spool up really quick.

Well I said close in size. Mine is "maybe" bigger but instead of ball bearing it has a lightweight wheel in it. flows 44lb spools lighting quick. made 417/473 on pump and meth so far

Even with Turbo P/N 743347-2 which is the biggest 2871r available, Compressor specs 53.1mm Ind wheel/71.0mm Exd wheel/56 trim/.60 AR, Turbine Specs Wheel dia. 53.8/76 trim/ .86 AR w/internal wastegate, and S trim Compressor housing (thats the 4" .50 AR) Garrett says is only good for 475 CRANK horsepower. So are you running 12.5:1 compression pistons? Alcohol? Something else exotic that we are unaware of?

Yes, it was an older cobra... chassis may not have been a cobra. It had a dohc in it and a KB sitting on top of it. I dont question people about their cars.... it annoys me when someone walks up to me and ask me every single detail about my car. This guy popped his hood because my friend asked him over the course of conversation, i walked over and looked at it long enough to gather that it had a KB sitting on it. That's an easy characteristic to get.

from my very limited ammount of detail people assumed all kinds of rediculous stats and turned this into a flame fest. Who said anything about traction. Again... if people would turn their flamethrowers off long enough to read. I've stated a dozen times about how dangerous the car is on these tires. A trailing rx8 told me i nearly crossed the yellow line from the 50 kick.

Like you said guy, i'm irrellevant. My car is on these tires because my budget is extended and these were all but given to me. I dont own a race shop or have my own dyno. i have no proof of exactly how fast my challengers were.... but did i really pump them up to be these amazing street beasts? people assumed i was racing a blown Gt500 or something. My description of the cars was as simple as "sohc with a blower, dohc with a KB ".... They were both older mustangs. My proof is witness. Trust me.... i was just as suprised about beating a KB as you guys are. When i walked past and saw it had a KB (after we had already raced) my initial thought was... "WTF how did that happen".

Proof... i thought more of the people there would have been on this site. I saw a few cars that i recognized from sigs that i thought would have seen this happen.

The only one here making assumptions is you. NO ONE claimed you raced a GT 500. We are all assuming you raced an '03 - '04 Cobra "Terminator" since those are the ones that came with the DOHC blown motor. A GT 500 is heavier than a Cobra, and is no faster than the Cobra is because of it (in fact, it may actually be slower mod-for-mod). If it is NOT a Terminator, then it would be even lighter and faster than we are expecting.

You are making claims that you not only beat, but REALLY pulled hard on some very strong cars. It's not that no one believes you, but when someone comes in and introduces themselves by casually talking about running as fast as a 1 liter bike on 205 street tires, questions are going to be asked.

A dyno chart should be a good starting point to figure out how fast a car "could be". In your case it would not apply since your car never runs once it is off the dyno. :eek: lol.

Of course there are some that can manipulate dyno charts too, so to some extent I agree with you that they may not be a good indicator of what happens on the street.

I played up picking on mustangs because im a mustang guy myself... its sarcasm. I prefer to race with and against domestic drivers because theyre usually the more mature of the bunch.

White s/c stang - Supposed blowzilla. Kid has a huuuuuge head cause he out ran a pretty fast srt-4 from here. But for those that know the srt driver we know he sandbagged.

Blue cobra - came down from Opelika I believe 2 wknds ago and got outran by the srt. He said 600hp but I'm not sure if I believe it.

Red eg hatch - built ls/vtec, friend of mine bought it off here and traded it. Has gone to shit now with the new owners. turbo is shit.

Guy with the subaru I don't know. Never seen him run.

If you come out again this weekend hit me up man. I'll bring my camera. You and Carl(srt-4) should be a good race. He is a hell of a driver and has a pretty fast car.

Now I'm for real pissed I wet home early. I almost came back out too. MattB was telling me to come to Sonic.

a guy i know personally and watched his car dyno made 870rwhp with a single 88mm turbo on c16, and then later made 960rwhp with the same set-up and more boost. he ran it on the street with us for like 6 months, with c16 always in the tank, but he ended up selling it. still running fine.

ps. the new owner blew the motor in less than a month tho. he drove it alot harder i assume

I have a number to base my opinions off of. I know what my car ran and dynoed before rebuilding, i know the ammount of change that took place and that's what i base my guesses on. My street tune is a deep 11 sec car. I ran 11.XX with the stock bottom end, cams and smaller injectors at lower psi than im currently at. Made a good number of changes since since then. I have no dyno or current ET to support it. To answer the next question that's going to be asked, Why dont i?... because like any other guy with a new toy... i'm in no hurry to tear it up. The blitz clutch im currently using is a lot less forgiving than what i'm used to and on my budget, i cant afford to fix anything i break right now. I'f i broke an axle or my transmission... i would be down the rest of the year. With that said.... I'm perfectly happy and content out running local mustangs that i know nothing about. My first car when i was 16 was a foxbody mustang and a mustang is what ive drove most of my life. Not the Terminator or GT500 though. They both have fully forged bottom ends including their H-beam rods. The GT500 bottom end is good for 1000rwhp

Reporting back what happened is not bragging. I was under the impression that is what the kills forum is for. To post kills. I reported back what happened as accurately as i could..... (on a public forum) and nobody that was there disputed what i reported. A few people confirmed what happened to be true. Obviously i'm happy to have out ran some cars... otherwise i wouldnt have taken the time to post... or wouldnt have raced to begin with. Yes, i enjoy what im doing. Racing cars is obviously a hobby that im fond of. The line between saying what happened and bragging is obviously very vague.

Pointing out the prestige of the local track was for the sole purpose of stating that columbus is a racing town and has a lot of people with fast cars. The track and the street are 2 different things. I know several cars here that are WAYYYY faster than mine. Most of them are old friends of mine. The point was that my car is in the upper class of what you're gonna find in the grocery store parking lot or in a mcdonalds drive thru. The % of 9-10... even 11 second cars just cruising around town is not that high. I'm comparing my car to what i see being driven on the street... not to what i could find at the strip.

I understand the reasoning for questioning... the story sounds crazy. But the way i said it was pretty much the way it happened. Anyone there could tell you that my car died every single time it was sitting still.... I even stalled out on the highway. The tires.... im being honest. I'll show you a picture of the rubber im sitting on. Sand bagging.... I got the same accusations at the time the races happened. The mustang guys took turns riding with each other so they had the opportunity to gauge my car vs each others cars.... After seeing the differences in how my car ran each time, one of the guys was feeling around my piping looking for a nitrous line, when he didnt find one he started comparing the temps of the ICs thinking i had hidden my line somehow. I cant honestly tell you what either of these mustangs ran.... what i know i told you. Sohc with a centri blower. I didnt see it, but my friend told me it was huge. dohc with a KB screw. It is what it is... we all know what a KB is.

i wasnt "ready to drop numbers so quickly" i've been badgered for about 8 pages before any expectation hp was ever mentioned. I certainly havnt been throwing out any type of claims. I simply stated what happened in a race and after tons of people harped about hp claims, i gave an honest guess. Which was between 400-450. 401hp would make that claim accurate, I'm pretty confident or atleast willing to wager $ on the 400hp claim.

I've previously stated that my bottom end is not stock. I've answered that question about 5 times now. My engine is built.... its not a sr20 with bolt ons.

I keep trying to get the center section because we have run into guys claiming a 2871r when its actually a 3071r with the T25 frame. He also keeps avoiding the compression question, but keeps reiterating that its a built motor. well im pretty sure pistons can be had in all sorts of compression ratios off the shelf, so that is of no use.
