So today i figured that i would show you guys a way of gettin the bitch pin out, that works for me. First your gonna need a couple of tools(c-clamp,allen head bit,and a 9mm deep well socket...make sure the bit on the allen head fits inside the pin.:goodjob:

well lets get started by puttin the allen bit inside the pin
you can see where mine is just sittin inside.

http://i32.tinypic.com/28an51j.jpg (http://i32.tinypic.com/28an51j.jpg)

the socket is used for pressure and to guide the bit as you can see in this pic
http://i28.tinypic.com/zlq6ap.jpg (http://i28.tinypic.com/zlq6ap.jpg)
tighten the c clamp until the very top of the allen head is exposed so you can retrieve it and the bottom of the pin will be exposed once you remove the(bit, clamp, socket)
http://i27.tinypic.com/i5dnpy.jpg (http://i27.tinypic.com/i5dnpy.jpg)

you will next grab a pair of viscrips and pull that bitch out

http://i25.tinypic.com/xqj0yb.jpg (http://i25.tinypic.com/xqj0yb.jpg)

http://i28.tinypic.com/2ufvpeo.jpg (http://i28.tinypic.com/2ufvpeo.jpg)

now the bitch is out and your linkage is free.

hope this help you guys in the future:cheers:

I use a 8mm punch and just wack it.

I have never done one outside the car.

If you have a c-clamp weld a small rod on to the foot then it is easy.

I've used the punch and also a spare ac bolt.

All while laying under the car.

The best, cheapest, easyiest way right thur. Since those AC bolts have that large chamfered point they just slide right in. I modified one so that it actually has the same OD as the pins ID so it works even better.

You can do it the proper way by purchasing a 5/16" Roll pin punch, or 8mm roll pin punch. It self centers it on the pin, and pushes it out perfectly.

Dont use a bolt, as it will lead to a terribly sloppy shifter feel- try the roll pin punch out you will love it;)

I've never done this outside of the car either cuz that would mean you have to take off the motor/tranny with the linkage and shifter assembly...seems like more work than less. I would imagine it would be somewhat cumbersome to try and get the c clamp on there with the socket and the little push pin all at once. I just use a drift pin punch....they are like less than 5 dollars and works every time.

you know the only reason you replaced your with a bolt is becouse you lost yours,,, stick with the pin its better, honda put it there for a reason and the reason your friends fell out is probly bcouse he always goin around power shiftin and missin gears, and wore it out.
