do you have
1-fuel
2-spark
3-air
4-compression

Whats it do when you turn the key ? Lots more info needed...

Did you put the plug wires on the dizzy in the correct order? I have seen this before, people make a mistake and put them in the wrong firing order. Thats why I ask lol...

we left to go out of town and made it to nashville about a 2 hour drive and it did fine then left to go to ia the next morning and it made it about 15 minutes down the road

Have you tried pulling the ecu fuse and checking if its blown? Doing that will also reset it...

lanning
08-12-2009, 07:27 PM
i think all he has done is tried a new distributor

. turn the key to the on position, listen for the fuel pump
. check for spark
. make sure the plug wires are in the correct firing order
. check fuses
. check the rotor button

Yeah bro check all of your fuses first. Be positive that your fuel pump is coming on when you turn the key as far as you can before the starter begins to turn the motor over. Sometimes main relays just decide to go bad and not turn the fuel pump on.

the fuel pump def comes on i loosend it a fuel spewd out as did the fuel rail

so it turns over and it dont do jacK???

1. check compression
2. check timing
3. check dizzy ignitor
4. check all wires that it's hooked on correctly on ears of dizzy & ignitor

did you replace the distributor with a new one? was it a KNOWN working one? you are obviously missing ONE of the necessary elements, if you had spark, fuel, and compression it would run. you need to find out which one you are missing.

b20vtecrr
08-12-2009, 08:54 PM
man i bought a brand new distributor and cap the rotor button is the only used part from the one that went bad would that matter though????

no go guys and there is no ecu fuse in the engine bay fuse box :/

Turbodude06
08-13-2009, 02:44 PM
well ima go take a look and see if its a fuse i didnt see an ecu fuse tho last time i checked

The ecu fuse is actually a back-up-radio fuse, its usually on a honda under the hood. One of the fuses closes to the firewall:goodjob:

JDMteg08
08-13-2009, 03:25 PM
i thought the fuse was under the dash. it should be two fuses by each other

The one I've always used to reset the ecu's on honda's are under the hood, by the battery...............

Prolly didnt jump timing if the compression is good. Did you check for codes?? Does the check engine light go off or stay on while you are cranking it?? Sounds like a dizzy problem.

Here is a thought, set your motor to TDC and then take off your dizzy cap and make sure your rotor button is pointed at the number one plug. If its not pointed at number one, that means your firing order is not right... try that and see if that fixes the problem...
