ok i took my pistons out to put new piston rings on and there a little dirty carbon buid up and just old oil i read that its not good to use any solivents to clean it cause certain things can eat away at the metal and or get caught up in the groves in the metal and fuck up the combustion chambers but i was wondering would cleaning them in gas or brake claner or degreeser do any damage seeing that gas goes in the chamber anyways and it dosent leave any carosive particles that could scratch the chambers just wondering i know cleaning the tops with the carbon build up can scratch the top of the piston but im just trying to get them back to their original luster would gas be a good way to clean it?

Works toilet bowl cleaner works decent on aluminum, do it rather quickly though, b/c it works the same as a works bomb.
