What to do for your GF for her birthday? (4.7 years relatioship)

It's that time of the year again where I have to spend $$ on my gf for her birthday. We've been together for 4.7 years. She just got into Optometry school and now she is moving to TN next week.

Her Birthday is this weds and I took off work to spend the day with her.

The thing is that, I have no idea what to do during the day time...?

I can give her some good :idb: but that doesn't take the whole damn day.

Any recommendations on any entertaining places at a reasonable price? I don't wanna do the same usual things.

There are all the usual things: Zoo, World of Coke, Aquarium, CNN, Underground, Museums, Segway tours, shopping, etc... but those do get old after a while.

Maybe Callaway Gardens for a nice lunch? There is also a Wild Animal park very close to there (Pine Mountain) that is a lot of fun.

road trip somewhere close. I dunno where you live but helen is not far. we went to the highlands in NC this past weekend for a few hours and had fun sight seeing and looking at the waterfalls. in helen you guys could go tubing it takes a few hours to do and is lots of fun and its outdoors which is kinda cool since cool season is around the corner. But like everyone else said. What does she like? whats her personality like. Would help a lot to think of ideas if we knew a bit about her.

She's not really into materials but more of a down to earth girl.

She loves and appreciates the fact that I actually planned something rather than being spontaneous. She loves the stuff that I put TIME on to actually making, instead of buying her something similar. She loves spending time with me pretty much anything that we do.. but its boring if we just watch a movie or just in our room talking, spending out time together.

We've been to the zoo, aquarium and fernbank museum... I just wanted to try something new that we haven't done..

There are several companies that offer "tour" packages on Segways. Basically, you rent the segway for the day/alloted time, and can ride it around the city on a guided tour or I think some offer rentals without the tour guide atmosphere. It's kind of a new way to see things you have already seen. Just an idea. (Only downfall... it's outside of course, and it's kind of hot. Maybe you could sign up for an early morning tour or something?) Here is a site for one of the tour companies. Some of them are pricey, but it's something to do.
