Does God have a sense of humor?

Seriously. I know with folks like "Sammich" allowed to freely breathe and walk the planet, you'd think that God DOES have a humorous side to him, but I'm talking about jokes "dedicated" to him. More precisely:

1. Does God frown upon good, clean fun in His name?

Again, I'm really curious as I don't walk around slandering God or anything. It's just that I just enjoy different types of humor. I don't look at it as being mean to God/family as it is just for a laugh.

i will chime in on this. i dont know. but put it this way. if your a father or when you become one how will you feel when some of these "jokes" are made about you by your own children?

I'm a Father, several times over. And, in these contexts, I would probably laugh at the jokes. I don't see the harm if it's not malicious or provoking harm. Certain jokes of religious articles I wouldn't find too funny, but the examples above aren't "threatening" the way i see them. Later, QD.

I don't think the consciousness that exists within god, is aware of humor.

You see humor to humanity is a very simple emotional process.
When are person bears witness to another persons shame he experiences humor. Which is often why we laugh at the harmless misfortunes of others, because they are not hurt, but they most definitely are ashamed. If you think about all the jokes we tell, all the situational humor we see on TV and movies, all the stand up we watch, there is always the target of the joke. At least this is the most common assumed psychological notion.


God, well it, I believe exists within such a consciousness that it is not even aware of the specifics of humanity's existence. Its like you being aware of your own specific individual liver cells.

depends what "God" is to you. if you are refering to the christian God then you need to read the bible to figure that out. it is definately one of the most benefiting things you will ever have the privelage to do. i have never found anything more amazing than the bible. anything after the book of acts is my favorite to read.
