lol i'm not saying that i don't think it is an awesome engine but with all of the developments in modern technology i would think that people would put a little more enginuity into a car instead of "throw a 350 in that sum bitch". Just seems like a cop out to me. I can almost gaurantee that if the same time and effort were to be put into the engine that came in that car it will produce better results and be able to keep AWD.

SBC belong in GM products or hotrods. But taking a SBC and putting it in an STI just doesn't seem right.

With all develop in modern technology? That's what the LS based engine is. It is by far miles ahead of the 50+ yo 350 you speak of. That's why you see people swapping them into everything (including the car pictured in the below sig).
