im polishing the lip on my rota slips

i love bronze and polished lip...and they dont have a verison of the slipstream...so decided to so a little custom work...but doing it all by hand is kicking my ass on just one wheel so far....next 3 im gonna tape off, and use aircraft stripper on just the lips

Test that on something before you toast the finish on a wheel with it.. it has been my experiance that... aircraft remover >tape

oh yea, im covering it in about 3 layers of painters tape really thick around the lip, and then 2 layers of duck tape, and probally just like 2 layers of painters tape around the main part of the wheel, and cut some cardboard for it.

im just not looking foward to the polishing process...its gonna own me, i probally have about 3 hours in just half of the wheel just getting the powder coating off, and sanding with 220-400-800 still gotta do 1200-2000 and then start polishing

well the bonze coating is VERY easy to get off, but the primer they use dosnt want to come off....i was using 60 grit, and then going back over it with 120, 220, 400 dry and then 400 went, 800 dry-wet 1200 dry- wet and then 2000 to finish it off...then im going with mothers polisher and polishing the fuck out of them

probally about 2 weeks from now ill be done spending a few hours a day on them
