i have the basic bolt ons... headers, exhaust, cai, etc.. I have plans to put on a turbo. The only concern is that its an automatic.(even though i hear that its not that big of a problem b/c i wont lose boost in between shifts). My question is what is the best next move.? My goals are 200+... any help is apprecaited!:goodjob:

Very...

Yep:yes: That tranny just isn't goin to hold up. Expectially if ur going to be beating on it a lot. u can proabably get away with 4-5 psi. I've seen an 00 civic auto on 4 psi, it ran good but he never got on it...

swapping out the trans wouldn't be worth it?

ok i swapped my tranny for around ~$400 on my 00 Civic ,
then i pieced together a turbo kit for around ~$800 tuned !

so i suggest youre friend should do it right the first time

go ahead and boost it ,
then get mad when it screws the tranny up and you have to swap it out ,,...

Doesn't this car has a plastic intake manifold?

This civic was a total fail performance wise. If you're wants to get boosted, sell the car and get another generation civic that actually has aftermarket support.

Or just K swap it and be done....

The auto trans in that year model civic is weak. I say just do a K swap. Or, I have an even better idea... Just sell the car and buy something that is a lot better base for modifications than a 02 civic. Those year model civics are the worse in terms of availibility of performance modifications and reliability after said modifications are installed.

TRQ converter will break after 9psi

TRQ converter will break after 9psi

So i have been told... They have told me to upgrade it, my question is after that what else needs to be done to keep the car from falling apart...?

The tans in those year civics are shitty, just saying:eek:.... Every manual(5-speed) I've ever seen, needs new main shaft bearings before 100K, Hell my buddy's need his at 27K.... Like someone else said it would be better to sell or trade for an older one.... Speaking of I have an 00 EX if ur interested:D.....
