Basically saying that pg 425 is meant to encourage people to choose suicide or not.

I don't see anything there about assisting with suicide or any thing of the sort. What I do see is a need that is not addressed by most families due to the "fear " of loosing a loved one. Advanced directives are things such as DNR ( do not resuscitate) orders that simple say due to a disease process or condition I have I do not wish to have CPR done or wish that EMS or Hospital personal attempt to revive me if I go into cardiac arrest. Living wills or durable powers of attorneys are also a great asset to have because they state you wishes for medical care you wish to receive if you become permanently incapacitated. I have a Durable power of attorney and a living will. I personally do not want to be kept alive on a ventilator or any such device. If I am in a vegetative states i wish to die, no feeding tube, no life support. Health Care Proxies are just another way to make sure that your wishes are held to. A health care proxy just denotes who you wish to make you Medical decisions in the event you cannot due to some sort of medical issue. These are great tools for making sure your wishes are followed, so you don't end up like the tomato in Florida that the news had a shit fit about.

EDIT- I am totally against this health care plan, It needs to be trashed and they need to start from scratch.

I agree with you. Someone told me about the assisted suicide shit, then I spent all day looking for it. I was appalled at the prospect. Turns out, they were talking about the counseling assuming that's what is discussed in the counseling.
